For my Christians Friends

Quote from Thunderdog:

How is it that you cannot bring yourself to read the man's ideas in his own words and can only deal with bite-sized portions regurgitated by your theist brethren who take great delight in either misquoting those with whom they disagree or quoting them out of context? Is it perhaps a congenital disorder on your part, or is it a well-honed defense mechanism that prevents you from seeing anything objectively that potentially threatens your views?

LOL, have you looked in a mirror lately mr close minded ?

If the man was misquoted like you claim, surely he would have sued the producer and the movie would have not got released. The simple fact that he flew over here to watch the movie, tells me he realized how big of a hypocrite he was in reality. So now we got an atheist, who is not 100% certain a higher power does not exist, and is delusional enough to say that perhaps aliens started life on earth. And I thought the bible had some tall tales in it.

Quote from Thunderdog:

I prefaced my comment with "If I am not mistaken." I guess I was mistaken. My apologies. However, I will stand by the remainder of my post.

A simple mistake on your part with no consequences. So what if you are mistaken about other things that could have more serious consequences ?

stu and tdog,

Suppose one day an entity shows up on earth and claims to be God.

What scientific tests will you administer to disprove it's claim ?

Or from an atheist mind,

What would be necessary for it to do to prove it is what it says ?

LoL ... that need not be hypothetical. It's been done to death.

V00:
>So if some person shows up and says, I am God, this is
>where the arc is buried, and he is right, you will just
>assume he is God ? What if he is just a lunatic
>archaelogist who just happened to be lucky on his find?

Maybe a round or two of 'I'm thinking of a number between one and a million.

Well, we can do a few 'water to wine' gigs (how about a remake of the 'Judgment in Paris' tasting and of course he would need to beat all comers.) While we're at it, throw in a couple 'loaves and fishes' to the multitudes episodes.

How about I pick out a recording digital thermometer and he writes a hourly log of it's output for the next week. I'm blind to his log until the week is over, but I can move it around, placing it anywhere I wish during the week from furnace to freezer.

That would be a very nice start -- by then I'd be thinking pretty hard that V00 could be on to something.

I thought we are testing for a God, not to see if one is Jesus.

You accept Jesus as the son of God. You believe the bible accurately portrays the miracles that Jesus allegedly performed, which Turok referred to. I don't see the problem. Since Jesus was already here, I'm assuming he doesn't have to Google for directions. And even though Jesus is merely the son of God rather than the Big Sky Daddy Himself, I'm still willing to accept the word of God if Jesus can just do his magic act under present day scrutiny.
