For my Christians Friends

Quote from volente_00:

try convincing that to you atheist buddy who says it is supernatural.

Perhaps you could point out which "atheist buddy" says that nature is supernatural. Stu and I have both directly stated that it is NOT.

Are you having a exchange on this tread with an invisible "atheist buddy"?

Quote from volente_00:

If your belief helps you in life, and causes no harm to others then why does it matter what one believes ? Perhaps you should try prayer sometime. Lord knows you need all the help you can get with trading.
But it can't just end there. Now that I know Batman is our Savior, I feel compelled to call upon our number of Batlievers to unite in order that we may hold political sway. I think certain laws and privileges should be dictated by our Scriptures as they appear in DC Comics. So, while I personally believe in Batman, and although I know that I will be saved from eternal mugging, I will only be fulfilled when laws and societal values properly reflect these Scriptures which I have come to realize through revelation as the true word of Batman.

If you don't like where you live tdog, you are free to leave. This country was founded with God as its backer and you don't have a chance in hell of ever changing that. I deeply understand your frustations as a minority but arguing on a message board does nothing for your cause. I don't believe political policy should be influenced by religion but it is what it is. So it is not ok for one religion to have prayer in school , but it is ok for another one to get it taken out of schools? Sounds hypocritical to me.

Quote from Turok:

That's a fine supposition, and I've no problem with it ... *except* it doesn't address this assertion of yours:

V00:
>I personally don't know of anyone who
>actually prays for supernatural things to
>happen. Do you ?

So we *suppose* that the creator only gives us what we need, not what we asked for ... still doesn't change that people are praying/requesting supernatural things *all the time*.

If the farmer prays to the supernatural with a request for the natural cycle to be changed/altered/restored/et al, he/she has prayed/requested/hoped for the supernatural to change the natural.

If the businessman prays/requests for business to improve he/she has prayed/requested/hoped for the supernatural to change the natural.

Again, you seem to dance all over the place, but you won't address your flimsy assertion with anything other than constant attempts to redirect.

And that is why their supernatural prayers are never answered.

I don't personally know anyone who prays for supernatural things to occur.

Do you ?

I have never asked for anything supernatural. A modest prayer for guidance in the right direction has been more than rewarding for me in trading and in life.

Perhaps my prayer is so vague that it just seems like it gets answered every single day through simple coincidence. Or maybe there is something more that intervenes when it feels the need to. I don't have scientific proof. All I have is my opinion and my experiences, and that is enough for me to believe in my personal theory of existence. You can spend your whole life searching for answers. Or you can live it to the fullest like each day is your last. I choose the latter. To each their own. God bless you tdog, turek, stu, and derek. I wish you all the best in life.

Quote from volente_00:

So let's hear about your own relationships with your father's?
We already know what science proves about the correlation.
Perhaps you guys are atheist because father steve violated you as an alter boy. I don't blame you for hating religion after experiencing something so tragic. Maybe that is where the fascination with a horned unicorn comes from eh ?

Quote from volente_00:

And that is why their supernatural prayers are never answered.

You let the cat out the bag volente.
You've prayed for the supernatural. You end up acting like a sick puppy anyway. Your supernatural prayer is never answered.

You couldn't have given a more clear demonstration on how one can get themselves so totally messed up by their religion.

V00:
>I have never asked for anything supernatural.

Wait a minute ... ... ...

>A modest prayer for guidance in the right direction
>has been more than rewarding for me in trading
>and in life.

You just did.

Volentee, native american inidans use a rain dance to call forth rain from the heavens. Even today some tribes still do this. I respect their right to their cultural dance. Do you think after a dance when it does rain, is it becasue of the rain dance, or would it have rained anyway, even if they didn't dance?

As with trading, a good rain dance is all about timing.

:p True, if the dance is danced, then 1 day later it rains, the timing was very good. If the dance was danced, but it does not rain for a month, that is very bad timing, and the indians crops could die, just as a traders timing could cause him to lose some money.
So I would say the most profitable way to water for the crops is to have a reserve system during a drought. And for the trader it is not good to hope, but better to rely on changes in price to make decisions to get out, or stay in and add to positions.

You have some very funny post Thunderdog!
