For most CV is just another flu but...

Ok, thanks, didn't realise flu was asymptomatic as well.

Your stats are pretty worrying. One thing that puzzles me is this - why has the impact of COVID been so bad in places like the UK, Italy and the USA and yet inn India it hasn't taken hold? Yet you have these huge densely populated cities like Mumbai?
It's possible Indians have evolved natural immunity to 99.9% of all bugs in the universe. :)

I have already had really bad flus in my life, so the words "just another flu" already fill me with fear. This being worse than the flu is terrifying.
82% of the death in CA are people over 55 and the majority are male, so your risk is very low if you live here. I expect it to be the same everywhere.

1PM Beach, that sounds PERFECT for me!!

Spain is my plan, I'll trade the close most days so 8pm to 10pm and spend my days at the beach, and maybe DAX for 2 hours before I go out.

Brexit screwing that :(
What's that got to do with Brexit? Spain always welcomes British pounds.

Uh no , doctors have been worrying loud in a few countries the emergency rooms are much emptier than before the coronasaga, people with dangerous conditions like strokes decide to deal with it at home . Not hard to guess it doesn t work out that well much of the time.
On the other hand, even without lockdown, those people might not be able or willing to go to the emergency room with the population scared of contagion and the emergency wards much busier than during lockdown.
Most medical and dental centers are closed around here, not sure for whose safety, so not a great time for everyone s health
There is another explanation here in the US: Most of those that visited the Emergency Room are non emergency cases.

Uh ?!? Not clear what s going to happen after Brexit, but supposedly it will become quite a bit harder to relocate between the UK and the EU.
As in the short term Spanish borders are closed to tourists, end of October has been shared in the media as the date until when spanish residents will be allowed to leave the country and tourists to visit it. This date of course subject to change but the deescalation plan for Spain expect a summer without foreign tourists

Possibly, yet I ve already posted several links from several countries mentioning emergency services worried gravely ill patients not visiting them. Stroke patients haven t come in either, having doctors fear they are dying at home. In Switzerland doctors have started contacting at risk patients at home to see how they are doing, and read similar stories from US hospitals, with the stroke emergency units of the hospitals particularly empty.

I have family, my fears aren't just about me.

Same here, very upset my kids are getting harmed by government overreaction over something that doesn t concern them.
Probably worse for kids in a poor socio economic situation.

Whole populations are clearly getting harmed by lockdown, cost benefit for lockdowns especially strict ones is more than suspicious imo
