Actually, he made numerous grammer errors, which are worse than spelling errors, especially when one is looking down on everyone else's intelligence in the same post. He had broken sentences, wrong verb tenses, etc etc.

I agree with DavidKSmith that today's action on ET was not particularly soothing, and I feel for everyone who currently does not have the mental strength to withstand all the crass and pointed opinions expressed here.

And last but not least, I don't trade because I want to get rich quick, and I might be the exception here, but the reason why I trade and frequent ET is I want to find out more about the nature of price moves in a market. In a way, the thing I am most interested in is if MSFT will go up .10 before it goes down .10 or not, and why. I know that I don't know the answer, and it is pretty obvious that nobody knows it, but it is what I am interested in. I could not care less about complicated and capital intensive arbitrage strategies. They mean no more to me than strategies for running a used car business. I am sure we agree they all are trivial. If you make your money doing arbitrage, good for you, if you enjoy social gatherings, even better for you (especially in this country). But if you can show me a journal of some speculation or a link to a statistics website or explain to me why there are QQQ options but no SPY options, then you can be one of the reasons why I read posts on ET.

And yes, I am not ashamed to admit I don't know why there are no SPY options or why there is no 1000 strike for SPX options, but I challange every trader (even someone as unimaginative as a pure arbitrageur) to give me one argument why such knowledge would be essential or even beneficial for any form of trading.

This brings me to the next point. This guy first of all has acted as though only good traders can comment on religion and philosophy. How stupid. Secondly, he has implied that if someone is new and still naive about trading that he or she can't be a brilliant mathmatician or scientist on this board. How does that make sense? And lastly, I will just state what so many before me in this thread have noted, that this guy offered absolutely no insight or solutions to the posts on religion, philosophy or trading that he was criticizing. By the way, I hope he lives on the West Coast since it was almost 11pm when he posted, and he said that he was "about" to leave for some fancy shindig (sp?). That's pretty late to be going out to anything other than a bar or club, unless as I said he's on PST.

I don't deny that for a second. Truthfully, it has been that way for over a year now. Not a completely comfortable situation in all honesty.

Who cares? I'd love it if my wife made more than me, provided I continue to make roughly as much as I do now (in other words, as long as it's not a result of me suddenly making zippo)!
 
All you have to do is stop reading it. WHy do you post over and over about how this thread should be closed and how disguested you are with it. No one is holding a gun to your head and making you read or comment on it.
