Firearm Wanted

I'm about to buy a full auto bb gun that I saw on youtube. It's air powered, and has ZERO regulations.

If someone broke in on you, and you aimed that thing at thier head and torso letting loose a fury of flying metal balls, I would believe they'd get out quick. (Then go to the ER to have the bb's taken out, and the cops can get them there. LOL!)

Just for laughs, check out the bb mini gun shooting up the tv screen on youtube. It even starts a small fire. Ooh rah!!!!! For $3,500 you can own one. Lol!

So there you have it, a full auto bb rifle powered by air that the NY babies can't touch you for! Better than mace or a tazer ever dreamed of!

People have different ideas on how to deal with those of a criminal persuasion. About 25 years ago I built a small house in a rough part of town for my uncle who was 86 at the time. When his new home was nearing completion he brought over a mattress and said he was going to sleep there with his shotgun, and protect his property until completion. Early one morning I arrived before he got up, and there was a coil of new, soft copper tubing on the front porch. I inquired and told him it might get stolen....he replied, "that is my bait". He was a fine man, a WWI vet, and had been robbed at gunpoint of his paycheck in San Francisco as a young man. I'm sure most people would find his philosophy appalling, but I'm also sure we would have a safer, better country if more people were like him. By the way his wife died in that house last year at age 105. Stosh

Unfortunately, some of the clever ideas might get you into about as much trouble as an obviously bad idea.

Booby Traps is a prime example of a real bad idea.

I have been visiting a number of local gun shops, taking care of my christmas shopping list, and it's amazing how few of the exotic firearms are available. But I might say the prices were not to crazy. Just not the usual selection.

I have one more item to get, and I hope to find it at a show this coming weekend in Valley Forge, PA. But I expect the event to be a mad house.

If any other ET folks might be at the Valley Forge show, maybe we could have an informal get together for a hotdog and a drink.

It's funny that the popular perception of Texas is that it's a gun haven. It isn't. It actually has some pretty awful gun laws on the books. There are states that make Texas look like California.

That's interesting; but you're right, I have no real knowledge of what Texas is like except from anecdotes here & there. So, for example, what are some of the awful gun laws there?

In places like Texas or most anywhere in the South or Midwest, you need a gun to carry around with you. That is because there are many remote areas of the South/mid-west and some desperate characters roaming around.

You could drive for hours in many of those states and not see much of anything. It takes a few hours for a cop to respond. Its a bad feeling when you have a flat somewhere on a long interstate road in Texas without a pistol. People are known to disappear in some of those areas.

I have 100% faith in law enforcement around here. You just need to call 911 and hang-up without saying a word. Believe me, a cop will be at the door within a few minutes. If you call 911 to say that some sort of violent act is going on in your household, then a swarm of officers with drawn weapons will be at the door in under 2 minutes. In NYC, there are always emergency services trucks (swat team) roaming the neighborhoods that respond with the regular cops.

NYC cops roam the streets in both marked and undercover vehicles. Some of those yellow cabs are actually police cars.

Rather then investing in weapons, get yourself a phone where it takes just 1 button to dial 911. Get a locksmith to reinforce your apartment door with a bar where a few good kicks cant bring it down.

That's fine, I agree, unless the cops <i>become</i> the enemy. Then you can only rely on yourself and your good friends & allies. Not a likely scenario, I agree, but certainly a possible one; and I like to be prepared for the worst.
