Financial Damage of Colorado Killer

To some shoppers, the irony is clear: Mexico has some of the toughest gun-control laws in the world, yet the country's drug cartels are armed to the teeth with illegal weapons that are smuggled over the border from the United States.

"If the United States had a system like ours, we wouldn't have so many problems here in Mexico," Agustin Villordo, 27, of Puebla said as he shopped for a hunting rifle.

On Thursday, Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano visit Mexico to discuss ways to stop the smuggling of American weapons, which Mexico says account for 90% of confiscated arms here. The meeting is part of an urgent American effort to aid Mexico as it fights a bloody war against drug cartels.

More than 6,300 people have died in drug-related violence since 2006, and some crime has spilled into the USA.

Mexican President Felipe Calderón says little will change as long as the United States continues to make gun purchases so easy. His government is pressuring the Obama administration to tighten rules on sales, rather than just the cross-border transport of weapons.

"It is necessary to reduce the sale of weapons, particularly of high-powered weapons, in the United States," Calderón said Monday.

"I would dare say that Mexico has some of the strictest regulations about gun ownership in all the world, and we're right next to a country ... that has some of the easiest ones"

Yea nice example there oldtimer, a nation over run with psychopathic drug lords who enjoy cutting up 30 bodies per time and dumping them in the middle of a busy road, empowered in there madness by the good old USA. Land of the brave home of the timid, hey someone might pop a cap in your ass if you speak out of line.

Quote from Random.Capital:

Canada is a state. It has tougher gun laws. It has much lower rate of shootings and gun-initiated murders.

Canada is not a state fyi. no wonder the US cannot compete in world markets.

did it ever occur to you to leagalize drugs?

I mean the whole thing is a little silly sheda,

Guns are illegal in Mexico, they have a law against owning them

It is illegal to buy guns in the United states and smuggle them to Mexico, there's a law against smuggling

Drugs are illegal in Mexico, there's a law against selling or buying or possessing them.

Drugs are illegal in the USA, it's illegal to smuggle them into the country, theres a law against it.

Now what is it you want to do to solve all problems?

Write another law?

JeZus! No I did not think of that, but now I see, the way to take out the drug cartels and destroy there absolute dominance over the drug market, of which they will kill thousands to secure, if need be, is to add:

Smiling shop clerks in direct competition to them, how did I and all the government agency over look such a simple solution....

no kidding, if you can't figure that out how do ever figure out anything? The government just simply won't figure it out, because there is too much money in keeping drugs illegal. The cookeder the government, the more illegal drugs are. Kentucky grows almost 80% of all pot in USA, and their cops on the take swear they will NEVER legalize pot.

if you are so depraved that you can't even understand a smiling man is better than 30 bodies dumped in a road, you are the psycopath, so blinded by your ignorance that you can't even see what a blind man knows. I'll feel a lot safer when they throw all people like you in prison and throw away the key.

I can't even believe human beings like you still exist.

You could have a least picked a better picture, maybe a pot head falling asleep at the welfare office.

I've made a lot of stupid posts, yours takes the cake. Congratulations

Posting one sentence then going back to edit it into several is also a little silly, but lets get on this, you cant solve all the problems, this is a complex situation with no complete solution, so that is reason to ignore and do nothing in attempt to improve the situation?

Is that what you are saying? Laws alone in some instances are often useless, take drugs for instance, its well known that people will do them regardless so the government aim to disrupt and end the "supply" of drugs...are you still with me?

Now if having a law and border control does not disrupt the supply, what do we seek to do next? We look to the "source" and seek to change the mechanics of it, to distrupt the supply..simple stuff.

Big money, only in a fantasy land does one acknowledge on the one hand a GOVERNMENT would never allow the money related to this to stop flowing, yet on the other hand suggests by legalizing said product the drug cartels would be finished.....

As a frame of reference, that would be approximately 4 times as much pot as is grown in BC.
