A total shut down as I was choked to death. 10 of 24 shooting, 18400 shares each way, -80 before commissions, -550 after, 1 bullet. Out of 24 shots only 5 were triple digit trades, everything else all double digits as smaller losers swarmed me.
I made a few stupid mistakes this morning which blew the game open and the market basically just locked me down for good. Forget about break out's, I am thinking survival again.
Pre-Market: No news caught my eyes except I thought the market was not as weak as futures indicated.
9:30: Financials felt really weak and shorted COF on a gap up, he went down immediately and I was in the money by a quarter, two prints later I was stopped out for a quarter loss. After a very strong OSX yesterday I was looking to buy weaknesses, went long GSF/HP/RIG/NBL/VTS/EOG at various points but what happened was after a very hard squeeze just a few minutes into the game the energy stocks tanked again, and just when I thought they will probably sell-off for a while a big rally went off and I missed it. It seems when I don't trade those stocks they move nice and smooth and when I do trade them I get smacked around every time. GSF killed me as the guy was very tough with fills.
10:06: Brokers felt weak and bulleted BSC but he was choppy as hell today and he became my second worst loser. Fortunately caught EP for a point and missed the other point which probably cost me the game. The home builders I tried today, DHI, TOL, BZH, LEN pretty much broke even. CTX/DHI ripped hard in the morning, why couldn't they do this yesterday when I was long at day end?
11:00: Anticipated a chemical rally as they were strong and I thought there will be a follow-through. Had PPG, FMC, APD, PX, DOW, EMN at various points and broke even in everything else but got 30 cents out of PPG. Churned a lot more energy stocks.
2:00: Several times I cut the deficit below 400 but like a rubber band I get bounced back to $500-$600 level. Tried very hard to not get blown out. Took UAL and held for two hours before finally giving up and it finally squeezed as XAL was super strong today.
3:00: FDX broke out on the daily's and I thought there will be follow-through at day end but futures came in and I broke even in him along with UPS. Tried COX on an end of day squeeze and got just 5 cents.

Was caught off guard by the broad market rally but fortunately caught a very nice auto part rally which carried me to a solid win. 10400 shares each way on 8 of 15 shooting, +1210 before commissions, +976 after, no bullets.
Pre-Market: Positive auto numbers made auto parts, alone with decent daily chart set-ups, a no brainer.
9:30: Took a little CRA on BTK strength got just 10 cents, a little APD as I thought chemicals had a chance and out for 5 cents loss. Had PX and out for flat.
9:35: Took just 300 shares JCI and scored 1 point (with some pare in and out's), stock ran up 3 points today. Had just 400 shares BWA and got 70 cents as the stock hit a 52 week high. Got 40 cents from MGA. The good thing about those stocks is that they are very thin and very few people trade them and when they move, they move smoothly. The problem is of course there is no way I can hold 1000 shares of those stocks with no BID to lean on. However, I have seen some of the top tier guys holding 2000 shares of stocks with so little volume and they do very well. Anyway I should have recognized the 52 week high on JCI as well, somehow I missed that huge second leg which is unacceptable since I got the second leg on BWA after a long consolidation (didn't go to lunch just watched him all day until the buyer finally showed up).
9:50: Took 1000 BJ and got just a quarter after all the pare in and out's. Stock was weak today versus rest of the RLX stuff. Tried APD/PX one more time, again lost 5 cents on APD and flat on PX, no action in chemicals today. Tried 100 shares SPW (the spread can be half a point to a point wide) and scored 30 cents. Tried a little ETN at 74.04 but he did a little shakeout and I lost 6 cents and missed a 1 point move.
10:50: Had a gut feeling about energy rally and took HP/DO, flat across the two after commissions as I did not hold despite of the fact that I caught them at the bottom.
11:43: Had STT/WFC at the bottom after a sudden BKX sell-off. Again did not hold and broke even across the two. I was being too defensive and didn't want to lose what I made and it really tied my hands up.
3:00: The entire leg of BWA, although it was just 300 shares :-(
I need to be more consistent so I can bring my size up. I am 6 and 3 for the month, I need a winning streak which will bring confidence and bigger sizes. That said, I have tried very hard to hold on to positions longer and ignore the shake out's, when I just feel everything is in my favor, and hopefully this will pay off.
