Oh snap, apparently there is a 49" monitor that is not a super-wide:

So, just got back from Best Buy. They had one of those 49" ultrawide monitors for like $899. But I *hated it*. Picture below. It is ALL width, the height is no greater than like a 24" or 27" monitor or whatever. That is DEFINATLY not what I want. I loved the big width and height on my 43" LG, it was a perfect ratio.
So, further questions if anyone knows:
1. Are there any 49" monitors that are NOT the ultrawide kind, but more balanced width/height? From my googling and searching Amazon I think the answer is "no".
2. If the answer to #1 is no, are there any monitors bigger than 43" that are not the ultrawide type? I too, worry the answer is no given what I've seen searching.
3. If the answers to #1 and 2 above are both no, seems I'm staying with a 43" - anyone have any recommendations for particular 43" monitors? I might just end up getting an LG just like the one that went bad lol. Sucks, I was hoping for a slight screen size upgrade, even if only very small, for shits and giggles.
Thanks all!!!

I manage a Jack in the Box. Pays OK. I really make my $$$ off my investments.
You went to Best Buy and they only had 49" ultrawide monitors or you didn't like any of their monitors that they had ???

I thought they rebranded themselves to just "Jack's"?
Melt 2 teaspoons of any excess Noxema you might have laying around (heat in microwave on high for 45 seconds), then mix with WMT brand isopropyl alcohol at a 1:20 ratio; pour in an old spay bottle, and spray down the entire house. My 43" LG computer monitor just went out. I think I sprayed too much bug spray on it trying to get rid of nats,

The stearic acid will wipe those fleas and gnats (with a 'g')... right the f out next time.
Just to throw a wrench in the superwide argument, I bought a superwide curved Samsung about 3 years ago and really like that I can have 2 documents side by side without having to resize them. Recently I bought a high-end gaming monitor that I ended up giving to my kid because despite the fact that it's bigger, it couldn't do side by side.
I'm now eying the Samsung Odyssey G9... massive ultrawide and curved. Expensive but gorgeous.
