Favorite 49" PC monitor for trading?

My 43" LG computer monitor just went out. I think I sprayed too much bug spray on it trying to get rid of nats, however that is spelled, lol. So now I'm on my ancient BENQ, like 27 or 32 inches or something, seems SOOOOOOO small.

So I gotta get another monitor. Since I had a 43, don't want smaller than that. But I read 49" is pretty much the biggest monitors they have for the desktop. So I want to go with that.

I want it to be nice and sharp for trading (or investing quickly). Gaming as well. Watching lots of scandalous videos. Work. I want the resolution, I want the refresh rate, I want good colors, without things being washed out... I want it ALL!!! I can pay a lot for that muffler, but I'd prefer not to.

Any ideas are much appreciated!!!

You trading outside on your patio / balcony, live in a small populated rural town in which people leave their doors wide open (even at night) or what ?

Regardless, try using Google to find your monitor. For example, I found the following link at the very first webpage search...
I highly recommend you visit a store that has the monitors so that you can view it in person with your own eyes beyond just reading online reviews.

Know of any wide curved monitors that are automatically configured as 2-3 smaller monitors? I don't want the monitor frames between individual monitors.

blueraincap, I think probably these 49" ultrawides are what you are looking for. Went to Best Buy, saw one, HATED IT, they are like 3 monitors stitched together left to right, which is probably exactly what you are looking for, but I hate the very limited height of the screen. I want one more even, but you might love it. Will try and post a pic.

I went with a plain 4k tv. Make sure the ports work. Make sure thr cable can support it. 1 tv replaced 4 monitors and stands. Video card must support higher resolution too.

Hmmmm, I need to look into this. Are there any downsides to using a TV as a monitor? Like because something doesn't line up you have some black at top and bottom or screen or something screwy? Is text as clear as on a computer monitor? I think I looked into this years ago and concluded it was just better to spend the extra $$$ to get a monitor to be on the safe side. Or any features I need to make sure a 4k TV has to make it work properly as a monitor?

Thanks!

Naw wrbtrader, I just have some aquariums and aquaponics/hydroponics stuff set up in my room. They breed in there.

Oh, I've read that article and tons more. The thing is, just went to Best Buy, I've figured out I do NOT want one of those ultrawides, hate them, picture to come.

Thanks!

So, just got back from Best Buy. They had one of those 49" ultrawide monitors for like $899. But I *hated it*. Picture below. It is ALL width, the height is no greater than like a 24" or 27" monitor or whatever. That is DEFINATLY not what I want. I loved the big width and height on my 43" LG, it was a perfect ratio.

So, further questions if anyone knows:

1. Are there any 49" monitors that are NOT the ultrawide kind, but more balanced width/height? From my googling and searching Amazon I think the answer is "no".

2. If the answer to #1 is no, are there any monitors bigger than 43" that are not the ultrawide type? I too, worry the answer is no given what I've seen searching.

3. If the answers to #1 and 2 above are both no, seems I'm staying with a 43" - anyone have any recommendations for particular 43" monitors? I might just end up getting an LG just like the one that went bad lol. Sucks, I was hoping for a slight screen size upgrade, even if only very small, for shits and giggles.

Thanks all!!!

Wholly SHIAT, I just found this:

Is that not like the ultimate? 55". 120hz refresh rate (none of this 60hz garbage). Don't see refresh rate listed. Lots of money too. Damn.

Why not just get multiple monitors?

I use 5 32” vertical 4K monitors

It probably makes up 3-4x the screen size of one 43” monitor and they’re all angled a little bit so it’s like being curved but taller

Well, I'm not going to lie, its not so much for trading, but it will allow me to see my investment tickers, and my huge GME losses, in GIANT letters.

Are you still holding onto your shorts on GME??!!! It's 220 now!!!! (told you it would go back up) Yup you are going to see them in giant letters all right.

The monitor went bad, all sorts of lines down the middle of it when I turn it on, and everything is blurry. I've had it for several years, no complaints. I just don't know for whether it died on its own or somehow did some of the bug spray that I spray on nats as they fly across the screen drip down from the screen into the back of the frame below and short stuff out. Will have to be more careful with my new monitor.

Ok if your screen went like that with all the lines down the middle and with everything blurry that means something inside died. Had nothing to do with the bugs or the bug spray. It was its time.

Photo for sure!!!
