Fasting as 'an amazing way of life'.

Lol...when I posted that I agreed with Dest, I almost added that Fred would probably question :D

It's open season when you derail on keto or fasting. Who's going to count every calorie with any semblance of accuracy? Abstinence is binary.

i plateaued early on zero carb keto. The cals were simply too much or gluconeogenesis was an issue. Almost all people that fail to maintain ketosis are either being bullshitted about "net carbs" or are eating far too much protein (ratios or outright).

I was still losing weight but only about 5 pounds after nearly a month.

Most ppl eat in a 12hr window so a 36hr fast isn’t that difficult. The problem is social occasions and going out with family. It’s a weekday fast for a reason.

i cannot do zero carb keto nor would I even want to try that. I don't recommend either as Lunch and Dinner should have a side of veggies and plenty of low net carb choices if you don't mind farting like a tuba.

When I feel the best is when I aim for 50 net carbs max. I only have to count the carbs really and makes life easier daily. Also eliminates a lot of trigger foods but then I give myself an off day or two. This was the approach the worked wonders but I got off it and no so excited to get back.

It becomes quite easy to do when I get into my routine at home. Outside the house it is a bee ach.

I could eat grilled chicken or steak and a side of kale or Brussels sprouts 5 days a week if it was not me having to prepare and cook it :(.

Best I every felt was last year when I was in or almost at a ketosis for a couple or weeks and playing soccer and hoops. Was like the gas tank never got empty. Trying to get back there if LIFE would just shut the fuck up for a while haha.

I never tested myself daily but you could feel it when you were humming and when you got off.

I juiced kale and ginger while on keto. IIRC my carbs were <8/day.

Open a bag of chips (that you like) and dump the recommended serving into a bowl. No way that you won't exceed (the reco serving and) your caloric goals if that shit is on the menu. I could eat a family-size bag of white cheddar Cheetos in a sitting. It's not something we buy as a result.
That stuff never makes it through my door. The only time I ever touch chips and the like is when it's offered when I'm visiting someone. Admittedly, I usually have a bit more than I wish I did, but only by a small margin of error. Even when I'm invited to dinner I never show up hungry, for two reasons. First, I tend to overeat when I'm hungry; it almost becomes an emotional experience. And, second, most people I know tend to eat more fattening foods than I do. So not showing up too hungry helps with portion control.

Yeah I dont have the stones to hit that level haha. I probably should initially given I need to work on a target weight that requires 25 lb.s off.

I am at 8 net carbs as of now and not really hungry so we will see how rest of the days goes. Nighttime is where the snackfucka comes out.

That is Dest's point that that abstinence ("that stuff never made it through my door") is easier than moderation for most.

Many foods cannot be moderated so better to eliminate them initially until you can bring them back in controlled. Still it is easier for me to not eat sweets for a while than try and get away with 3 Oreos. (3 fricking Oreos as a serving size... who the @#$% are they kidding).

Haha our live-in just dropped off a veggie burger and now she's going to have to eat it. It does suck though because it smells great.

T-day was rough. Wife and her mom are gourmet and the gravy was amazing. I went off an (almost) two month keto due to the mashed potatoes and stuffing. I don't even want the turkey. We had an Amaretto cake and I may have eaten 90% of it. I told the family that Steph's mom binged on it. 100% false.

Then the potato pancakes for another week.
