Look at trading like any other business
if you were to be a doctor you wouldn't except to start brain surgeries after 1 years of studying
it gonna take time
trading is a marathon not a sprint
it could be 5 years from when you start or it could be 10, nobody knows
once thing that's to be constant is putting in the work and knowing when to take the foot off the gas
and yes, way more complex than learning a guitar

It’s true that expectations hurt. But what hurts more is unrealistic expectations! You can become a successful forex trader only if you are educated and know what is going on in the market and how you can make use of the price movements to make money.
I do not know if retail FOREX is beatable but what you wrote is good advice for many areas of life.
