There are no "competing theories" to evolution other than what is presented by holy book thumpers of one stripe or another. None. Not a single one. It is evolution, as understood by scientists with no other agenda than seeking the truth, against creationists with an predetermined end in mind. The dispute is very much a dichotomy, and you would do well to at least understand that much. Yes, it is either/or. There is no other disputation.

On the plus side, I think you've just made friends with some imams in the Middle East. You have so much to talk about with one another.
