So does '3 years ago' refer to 2006 or 2003?

Look like original thread was (SEC investigating MADOFF FINANCIAL?)

Now a poster name cdntrader found the old thread and related to recent news of Madoff financial. So cdntrader post the old thread ( he add... ET post from THREE YEARS AGO was) to the old thread name.
On page 3 of the thread is the last post of old thread, and beginning of new post with cdntrader.
So three years ago is 2006
