ET gone to the dogs

I do disagree with the last two posts. I want people on a forum to disagree with things I say, and I want to hear what they have to say about why and what I should be doing instead.

I don't filter out posts from inexperienced traders. Even when posters are wrong, through inexperience, mistaken biases or honest misunderstanding of what I've posted, what they say stimulates some review and reflection in my mind, and this is beneficial for my overall approach.

I think I have only ever ignored two or three posters on any forum, nobody on ET.

I agree. I usually put on Ignore ppl who are clearly trolls who are forwarding no valid arguments and are clearly just copying & pasting, recycling their arguments again and again and again from one post to another just for the sake of blah blah blahing or people who just curse like this guy @Scataphagos. He claims that he "bring to their attention some of their "notions" about trading and the markets are wrong", he doesn't. Last time we were discussing Universal Basic Income in this forum, he apparently didn't agree with what I was saying, instead of bringing to my attention my notion is wrong by valid arguments, he just said "Up Yours!" LOL. I was going to put him on Ignore but he chose to put me on Ignore instead so problem solved. :)

  • Your post:like ratio is very low for someone who has joined within the last year.
  • 125:14 = 9:1
  • Should be at least 4:1 or better.

Disagree Sir :) His post:like ratio is already excellent and would get better the higher the ratio, i.e. the lower the likes. Ditto for poster dozu888. Both are winners IMHO for not being part of the crowd. Just one of either as a friend ought to be worth 1 trillion of the others. Just my 2 cents - ditto for this, small# of likes but huge in stature for massive accordion play (wait for it, it follows the fibonacci sequence all the way to 423.6%) :) :)

yes but Bollinger did give away his secret sauce
but i agree trading requires 300% of your focus

Bollinger Bands is not that useful in trading tbh. I mean it's a great tool to learn about technical analysis and its various concepts like reversal and breakouts and to see those concepts in visual terms but that's about it. You can't really use it to profit I find.

Hey guys I am leaving ET, this site is becoming predominantly newbies with no trading experience and I would like to find a site where I can interact with professionals. Any ideas??

Collective2 is a community where thousands of traders publish their strategies. Some strategies are good, many are terrible. Unlike forums or social, any trader willing to "post" a walk-forward, public, out-of-sample track record is likely one whose "signal" might be separated from noise.

straight from the heart.
it is not a mistake, if it does not suit him any purpose, to be here.
i do not believe that the big manipulate the market but they are are not here to do charitable deeds:they are there to trade the market, like all of us.
I was not speaking about big traders, but about banksters. It is not about to believe or no - it is our experience, sadly. Please, take a look at our website if you have a minute. Especially located in the offshore jurisdictions and Switzerland, and we are living testimony that they are trying to manipulate minds and create. So may goodbye to Silly Willy is still the same - be aware where are you going and with whom communicate. The truth still is between you, your monitor and your inside work.

Perhaps one of the main ways people become professionals is they do not spend too much time on trading forums and instead study their craft.

I am going to miss your wit and the rest of ET will have to try to continue on without you.

Best wishes and good luck.

Much of the decline in post-quality is because of Forex threads -- which was predicted way back in 2011.
I can't understand this, certainly doesn't register one little bit with my experience.
The Politics, Chitchat & Religion areas of ET could be considered the most abrasive for derogatory comments but really those sections are there for a reason too - to let off steam, and in my opinion do not cause damage into the trading arena of ET.
But Forex discussion, why would forex be such a negative? Just another trading avenue, albeit not my cup of tea as I find it too difficult, but so is Options trading and Day trading and micro scalping etc.
