As long as 42-47 acts as resistance, the scenario is in play

Waiting for open to determine the strength of ES.

Where they position the open tells a lot about the intention.

assuming that the 11/18 close holds, the next gap fill test is 1275.25 close of 11/8?

Wave's 1252 could be the cap and starts the complete melt down if that is all they got before New Year.

I read a forecast recently that had US GDP ahead of Eurozone by better than a percent and European output under-performing for twice as long. If you look closely enough that's has been priced-in for some time. Europeans selling on the way up and placing size as stops in our session has been evidenced to only fuel the same occurrence in the US but with stronger volume, and it would appear, more advantageous mathematics.

I'ld consider taking my money out of underlyings in the FTSE if I were you.
