Tidbit:

Take the High/Low of the ES Globex session, find its mid point.

If at 2:30 pm est the ES opens on the same side of that 50% line as the 16:30 pm est opened, it will most likely revert back to the median point. If it doesn't it is just fat and will be cut off.

So Bulls beware...:eek:

EDIT: if it opens on the opposite side, it means that the low/high of the overnight session wants to be revisited...use this concept as a guide and it will help you understand what is really happening...

I just tested the above on a one year lookback and got a 3/2 loss at roughly even hit rate. Trading mid, no commissions, and a SL equal to the distance from entry to 2 ticks from median.
 
If 1036.75 is breached BEFORE 1071.00 then 968.50 is in the cross-hairs...saying it now.

BUT

If 1071 is breached first, then even if it sells off into low 1100's 1140 is the upside target.

These are guides I live by in understanding the larger picture.
