Quote from bidask:

doesn't this mean you're a long-term buy and hold investor? i know you said before that you average around 60% per year in your trading account. what are your returns for the total portfolio (trading account + non-trading account)

one more question on the weekly chart. the macd looks like it's trending down but the rsi looks like it's about to reverse. how do you interpret this?

I typically show a 15 to 20 percent gain over the whole. This year is a little below the 15 at the moment due to my deployment in cash for the most part. As regards the weekly, I see what you are saying, but it is most likely a possible bounce only and not a reversal. This is part of the reason why the stop would have to be that large for a new short here. (the potential bounce). However, I would also say that you are being very anticipatory in your view of the RSI.

Hopefully, everyone has seen why successful traders only trade with the trend and not against it and why it is important to avoid the trades which are countertrend. :)

The very first trade you posted in this journal is exactly the opposite of what you just said.

Quote from Lawrence Chan:

Interesting, if 60-68 holds, and having the ability to bounce back up sharply above 790, we may very well see a 100 pt day

The t day boys may be out of juice after the 100 and 45 pointer the last few times.

ES futures hit a low of 767.25 during the second week of October 2002. It will be interesting to see if that number is of any consequence. I imagine that it gets tested and eventually moves through it significantly. :)
