It was a rhetorical question.

Why would any trader show a 5000 lot on the ask when he can unload slowly at far better prices, without all the front running?

this happens a lot in smaller numbers,mrkt trades to size,you want to buy a few 100 at 29 so u show a large offer to hold price down as soon as u filll your longs u pull your offer,its most evident in last 10 minutes to close,whichever side has the most size,121 size to buy,1700 to sell we go up
 
Posted around 7/11 the 1200/1220 swinglong mark. My swing ATS got in obviously early at 1229. Unless a reverse (lower probability), the move on this swing up looks sizeable and several days (some a couple weeks).

Posting the log is an experiment. I find it difficult to keep up with what the swing traders are doing since there is so much intraday posting. Will keep posting the swinglog, it would be beneficial if other swingtraders post in some sort of historical format vs quasi-random messages.
 
I don't know why someone would show "real" desire to sell like that, either, but so far, the price is acting like it did when I saw similar in the AH.

If pattern I saw before repeats, then... for today,
if price now moves under 1229.25, I 'd expet to see 8-10 points downside in short amount of time (like 10minutes)

I only mentioned it because I don't see this kind of "firm" shown size very often and I wondered if anyone else out there cared to share observations.

the real purpose of my post was to let everyone know that the size at 29.25 was not a spoof.

I am now very curious to see how price acts if it undercuts 29.25
