A trader posting stops is like a poker player showing his hand. No thanks!! :)

There are numerous instances where I have posted stops and the market comes within a tick or two of hitting it, but does not. Stops that are hit and then reversed are just poor stop placement. Noone is paying attention to this journal and gunning for the stops here. I would also tell you that there is no palpable market manipulation in ES . There could be in lumber maybe. I am not so full of myself to believe that big players are reading this journal. People who complain of market manipulation are most likely engaging in bad stop placement. Be that as it may, please remember that I make no requirement for anyone to post a trade ever.

Is that what you see? I see chop and non-directional trade. I met my goal selling off the open and I'm just a spectator at this point.

Watch for the open price (1364.50). Every time it gets down there it encounters a lot of buying. So, if anything there may be a bit of accumulation here at those levels.
The day isn't over, you can still make another call ... LOL, fuckard. :p

Quote from Leonidas:

Guess who was short after that opening price broke? Guess who scalped it all the way down? Me.
That's not what the post above is saying ... :D

P.S. Now that' we're at the bottom, he was "short from the Open and scalping all the way down. But previously he "saw support coming in and was wondering why I was calling a Short trade".

Thanks for proving to the onlookers who the douchebag here really is. :D

Quote from Mins:

I'm sure the big players are reading ET and waiting for you to post your stop so they can blast it. :p

Yes, "they" do. "They" also have moles in every chat room on the internet, free AND paid for. There is no trade "they" are not aware of. Your PnL is completely controlled be "they". You will NEVER win unless "they" let you win.

Happy trading

I agree with you on this, depending of your definition of manipulation. There is some manipulation of very short term price action, and a lot of this has been automated in recent years.

Longer term you do have big funds take positions in futures when they know they'll be creating a movement in the cash by liquidating or accumulating a large position. There are more examples of this, but whatever.

The end message though is correct - you can never blame poor trading results on manipulation. If anything, manipulation can create opportunities if you know how to spot it.

Quote from Buy1Sell2:

I am,and have always been, acutely aware that many of the trades posted here are paper trades. What I am looking for are real time trades with real time stops and exits. This is how you improve and give the journal honesty and strength.

Oddly enough, I give far more credence to what is said and the logic behind the statement than I do to Poster's trades.

The bars (charts) are fractal by their nature, sharing an identical source.

How individuals chose to handle the information is over to them, but they should be aware that there is a direct correlation between each successful style ... how can there not be!

A successful scalper will understand and appreciate a successful position Trader and the reverse is also true.
The problem arises when hopeful (currently unsuccessful) meets successful.
One can identify the other, but the reverse sadly is seldom true.... hence the confusion.

Where are I going with this posting.

It is the logic, the ability to grasp the reality of ES (irrespective of bar style and space) that forms the basis of trading.
The trades are merely the output of the thought process, ranging from logical to woolly.

If someone says he/she is a real Trader then terrific.
If they say they are done for the day, or have left stops in the market while they do something else, then that is just fine.
It is their time to spend, not mine.

It is the logic behind the posting that captures my interest because we all start off trading seemingly miles apart whilst we are gazing at the very same information.

As gazing develops into reading and assumption develops into logic, we become drawn closer and closer together.
Never necessarily the same due to the human X factor, but forever appreciating the other successful guy`s struggle.

... and the little section I have in bold describes how Leonidas has said that he was "just a spectator at this point" ... while a later post says he 'was scalping all the way down".

LOL ... so which story is it?. :p :D

Quote from MandelbrotSet:

Wrong. I said trading was sideways and choppy (both of which were true) and I was a spectator because I didn't know where it was going. I said if anything there was a bit of accumulation at that level. That's not a long call, nor did I rule out the possibility of the market going to the downside.

Also, check the timestamps on the posts. I posted that before the selloff, which came on remarks from the FED and ECB. Or did you think that selloff was driven by technicals?

Like I said, I am A-OK with sending my trading records for the day to Buy1Sell2. I'm not going to post them in the open forum, however.

As an aside, you seem in love with being right, and making calls before the fact.
