You stated: "Market has experienced a short term trend change and we are currently in a downtrend. Only shorts should be taken."

What market are you looking at when you state the above? We are not in a downtrend as far as I can see. We have not been in a downtrend since early 2003 or one could make the case the later part of 2002.

I have just joined elite trader forum and like the ES journal. I read an interesting article on Lewis Hamilton and wondered...Could this be the way of training future traders?

here are a few snippets...Nice thread you have here. Many thanks for some fine analysis.

BW

"Lewis Hamilton made his grand prix debut after a training period that included thousands of hours in the McLaren team's unique and highly secret simulator.

"Hamilton has been prepared for this and other aspects of the job with all the seriousness and some of the specific training techniques brought to bear on astronauts and fighter pilots.

"McLaren put at Hamilton's disposal the greatest learning tool that any driver has ever been given. McLaren's simulator, developed over the past eight years at a cost estimated to be above £20m, has been Hamilton's schoolroom, where he sits in a full-size formula one car, minus wheels and a functioning engine, in a darkened room in front of a large, curved plasma screen. The chassis is suspended on a multi-point hydraulic rig which moves in response to his touches on the steering wheel and pedals as he watches a circuit unfold on the screen, with appropriate sound effects.

"Everything in this grown-up video game is programmed via the simulator's software: the minutest details of the circuit, the response of the engine under different conditions, the type and wear-rate of the tyres, as well as the noise of the engine. No wonder that when Hamilton arrived in Melbourne at the start of the season, on his first visit to Australia, he took to the Albert Park track as if he had been driving there for half his life. In a sense, he had.

"McLaren boss Ron Dennis also introduced him to Dr Kerry Spackman, the New Zealand-born neuroscientist who has worked with him in and out of the simulator on developing his psychological responses and increasing his brain's ability to absorb, analyse, store and recall information. Spackman's use of virtual-reality techniques has enabled Hamilton to exploit his natural talent even further by expanding his mental capacity. In a way, it is like adding an extra litre to his Mercedes engine.

"Hamilton's predecessors in the McLaren team could have availed themselves of the same opportunities, but saw little point in it. Raikkonen, for instance, clearly felt that there was little to be learnt. Having seen the results, however, those who make fortunes from managing young drivers will be quick to copy the formula.

"But Hamilton has something extra, and it is the quality that puts a shine in the eyes of men such as Niki Lauda, Sir Jackie Stewart and Sir Stirling Moss. His talent may have been refined by science, but Lewis Hamilton has the soul of a racer."

Market has experienced a short term trend change and we are currently in a downtrend. Only shorts should be taken. I must confess , I attempted that intraday trade at 1518.50 short and then held it overnight when the daily chart was not overbought yet. . That was not good. The daily chart has not yet signaled the correct short signal, but will soon I believe.

interesting observation B1........are you basing this solely on the RSI divergance,daily/weekly & would a new hi on S&P cash negate this "turn" & change your observation or actually provide a lo risk/ hi R/R scenario?

I want one for my apartment! It would make Forza2 on the LCD look weak :p

I saw Hamilton take his first victory in person at the Montreal Grand Prix the other week. What a race that was!

Market is struggling pretty hard here, trying to maintain the upwards bias ... but it ain't look'in too good for the Bulls right now ...

P.S. Officially, I've got a short bet on at 1549.00, PS @ 1552.00 (safely above the turn @ 1551.00). But we're at a crossroads here, and it may get blown, if so, I'll just take the next trade... there's nothing more dangerous than a Bull taking its dying breath.

Potential fill of Fridays gap... Good eyesight JJ. :)

if the market retreats here, its in major trouble, since downside momo builds up fast. the institutions can hit it fast for 80 points technically to that trendline and still peserve trend. discounts for a falll rally.
