Possible bullish HIKKAKE on 15m YM.

Yes, I play this pattern, but only in context with other TA.
Just thought I'd mention this particular sighting.
I'm not seeing the Hikkake. The 11:45 bar is not strictly speaking an "inside bar" because its high is the same as the high of the previous bar. The 10:45 bar is an inside bar, but the following bar is an outside bar, which violates the Hikkake pattern if I understand it correctly.

Which bars are you seeing the Hikkake in?

Underwhelmed with the bullish price action on my ES and NQ longs. Moved my ES stop to break-even, and my NQ stop to -1 point (20 bucks). I'll stay in these longs on a zero-risk basis, but I'm losing confidence that we'll see a stampede to the upside today. I'm going out for a half-hour walk and I'll check on what happened when I get back.

Well, I never said I use the exact "formula". It's such a simple pattern, that through backtesting, other elements are easily added. As a scalper, I DO use equality for definition of an inside bar on fast charts. This particular sigthing is the 11:30 EST inside bar. For the previous, I would agree with your take, however I don't immediately negate the pattern on faster charts. So while the outside bar is correct technically by 2 YM ticks that didn't hold, overall price action, for me, held the pattern live. But technically, pedantically with no modificiation, you are correct.

BTW; the HIKKAKE pattern has been negated... well beyond 3 bars now. Bull flag on YM 15m is living however.

Short ES at 1547.50

Pretty good

I've got a short signal at 1547. But I don't think it'll fall too hard today. It feels like they wanna keept it up for the moment.

Although, as you mentioned, the TRIN is on a steady climb.

Thanks, I'm not trying to hit any homeruns, just trying to cover around the LOD. Looks like I might get stopped out soon though, we'll see. TRIN was the main reason I took the trade though, so as long as it keeps moving up I feel aright.

:edit: stopped out at 1548... damn

Ah, all is now clear.

Didn't realize you did bull flags. All I've ever seen you talk about before is bear flags. Glad to know that you're an equal opportunity flagger.:) Although I suspect bear flags are more reliable, since downside moves tend to be more sudden and decisive.

Speaking of bull flags, are we about to get an upside break from this one?

EDIT: Yep, we sure are! :) :) :)

EOT... Equal Opportunity Trader. :D

And yes, hence the "oso" in my handle.

Little drop in prices could have been in reaction to the 1:00pm Housing Market Index (Home builder sentiment survey), it was the lowest reading since 1991.
reported at 28 versus exp for 29 previous month 30.

No one expects fed to ease, so the only thing (I think) the markets wnat to see is signs of strength.

Which is why it would be so much fun if they did!:) A short-term contrarian position on bonds here is an interesting thing to consider.
