Maybe it'll hold, but nothing is looking pretty, so I wouldn't reverse here.

Ya I definately do not advocate going long. Short spikes can be violent so its nice to take some profits off in these key areas so your psychology doesnt get to you and you start covering at the highs.

Was your short by any chance based on market declines following roll overs? I have been noticing that market tends to decline in the beginning of the week following rolls.

Actually no. I've never considered looking at the correlation. The infrequency of the futures rollovers would cause me to think any correlation is by chance. You would have to go back years to get any kind of a sample size, and I think the market dynamics over that period of time would be so varied as to make any correlation suspect. But, I'll defer to you, since you seem to have your eye on it.
