Guys,

elbow/porgie/frogman/tradequicker etc. has been banned. If and when he returns please use your head (along with sending me a PM). By quoting someone you repeat and reinforce what they say giving them credibility. And you force all those who have them on Ignore to read their posts. Best approach with disruptive people is simple -- do not quote them and do not engage them and do not comment on them. Any of those things just directs attention to them which is exactly what they want. In other words, whether or not you use the Ignore function of ET, it's always best that you completely and totally ignore their posts as if they didn't even exist.

Quote from bighog:

apex82,

ER2 is thinner than Twiggy ever was. Dangerous to trade that puppy.

I saw this thread and read the fir 30 or so pages and glanced at a few more. Come in today and find the same babble that we do in chat. ... Good Grief !!!!

Tradestation will be up and running , gonna work on some coding strats for things that work. I feel once entered though, trading is still about finessing a trade once filled.

Well ya its thinner but it is also twice the size so you can trade less contracts. I am able to trade 15-30 lots most of the day without any problems, except for lunch. But I am also using limit orders 90% of the time. Whenever I tried to trade 60 lots on the ES.. hell even 20 lots there is no way in hell I was ever going to get filled on extreme ticks. I gave it up months ago, the oppurtunities in the ES are just not there like they were years ago.

Glad to hear you got TS up and running, your going to love it. Once you work on some strats your going to get addicted, but you will also be a more confident trader. Let me know if you ever want some more tick or VB data, I have over a year and a half vs the 6 months that TS gives you.

Thanks, yes i had TS before for charts, never coded before.

Concerning ES vs ER2...........Ok, if that works for you fine. I just fail to see where any problems arise in getting fills in ES. The spread is still almost always a 1/4 even on big orders from what i see. The volume numbers also confirm that.

Look at it this way, ER2 trades in 10th and ES in qtrs. Ok, a handle in ER2 = $100 and a handle in ES = $50.00 All well and good, you can save on business costs with lower commish. BUT, not all limit orders will be filled at a single tick spread in ER2. chances are a one tick spread will be almost constant with the ES, Correct? So you are really gonna get nailed now and then in ER@ from getting filled, especially if you throw in an exit mkt order . you have felt that pain now and then for sure. I suggest to stick to the knitting and do ES.

It is easier to follow ones ideas, entry & exit when all are on the same page. Make it easier on all of us to understand your own well thought out ideas by using the ES in a ES journal.

Lets get same nice runs today.

Romik,
What does ES look like this morning. I don't have live charts for futs anymore.

Considering jumping back in soon though.
