i was lurking, but...what the hell...lmao...i just had to respond to that one.

nice one...we should call this the vol and porgie show....:D

princessa, can i move in with you ? I had a buy signal at 1421 but then porgie told me his 100% system said to sell so I did and blew up my account. I knew I should not have listened to him after his 100% system said my long at 1416 was a bad idea just yesterday.

DO WE see a down move here?

Is your name rubberbird or thorn ? Your system gave a short signal right before the big up move. I need a key to your house. I will be there shortly with all of my stuff. I bet it all on your system and it was wrong. THANKS A LOT PORGIE !

The only problem with the system is that if you are good at constructing key levels, there is usually a lot of consolidation at those levels. The slippage and small losses will add up. I suggest going over months and months of charts trading the right edge and tracking the peformance. You may find something else to add such as other cfs etc that can give different rankings and could increase the odds to 80%+ Put in the blood, sweat and tears and you will be rewarded.

I agree, that certain levels are more appropriate, but hey, who said you need years to determine them? Pick a weekly/monthly S/R and you have a weighted level.

I have minimum slippage as most orders are limits and I don't pay commission. What else, small losses, yes there is that, but you have to remember that no index will stay within a tight range, consolidation or not, we are talking about an average range of just 2 points S&P500. I know Illiquid is concerned about having 100 whipsaws, but that is a practical impossibility. Please find an example for me to concur. Difference being is that most traders will decide to enter market upon their conviction of a measured probability of a certain event that might take place. This method is totally unbiased. I can assure you that there ain't much consolidation going on around major S/R levels. You know that anyway.

...You might end up going overnight short, with size, while indices are all making new highs . . .

I don't follow, how is that possible?

The mental security you require involves a very high worst-case scenario cost....

Just like yours, I have a max stop which is limited to a certain % loss of my overall TC, so I will stop trading a level after 10, 20, 30 attempts depending on increases to size, not just initial size.
