Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation


And the criticism I've seen on it:

But journalist and author Abigail Shrier warned of the move by Biden on his first day in office and referred to speculation that public schools will have funding pulled if they do not allow transgender female athletes to compete in girls' sports.

"Any educational institution that receives federal funding must admit biologically-male athletes to women's teams, women's scholarships, etc. A new glass ceiling was just placed over girls," she tweeted, adding that the order "unilaterally eviscerates women's sports."

Is this criticism accurate? Why or why not? If it is accurate, I would love to hear from some of the folks on the left (who are capable of making well-thought out, non-snarky/trolling arguments) like UsualName, Piezoe, GWB or Ricter as to whether or not you think this is a good idea.

I have already previously stated my opposition to allowing biologically-male athletes to compete on women's teams or obtaining women's scholarships -- this undermines women's sports.

Criticism is spot on. This was an asinine decision by Biden appeasing the LGBTQ faction in his party.
 
This will go to court because:

This is likely an overreach of the Bostock ruling that narrowly identifies protections for LGBT under title VII (employment). Theoretically, the Biden administration does have a case that this ruling should apply to title IX activities as well but the court doesn’t necessarily have to grant it.

Now this issue was going to go to court without the EO anyway but it does show the Biden Administration will be on the side of including LGBT into school sports.

My personal view is that LGBT represent about 4 in 1,000 students and it’s a much lower percentage that participate in sports so the impact will be minimal but will give transgender girls an unfair advantage so it goes against common sense.

I doubt congress can legislate out of this so we have to wait on a court ruling.

It may be doubleungoodspeak to say but letting males compete in women's sports violates any sense of fairness. It just seems obnoxious and absurd and it is emblematic of what to expect for the next 4 years.

The question is how far the absurdity will be carried.

If transexuals want to play sports there should be a category of sport for "males who identify as females". Let them have their own category. But if you insist on letting males into female locker rooms many parents will stop their daughters from participating in sports.

Even a german shepherd has a sense of fairness.

There is no such thing as a transgender girl, it's a made up term. Males, regardless of how they dress, what surgical mutilation they may have had, what hormonal drugs they are taking, are still in fact biologically male and therefore have a physical advantage over female competitors. This is the actual war on women and needs to stop, now.

So you are personally against it? I also appreciate your perspective on the legal possibilities of whether or not it has a chance of standing.
