No I read that, and responded with etc etc. I don’t need the elementary commentary and there is no really back and forth needed. This primary season is unbelievably boring. We are heading for a weak incumbent vs a one term president and it will be tight.
As of now, Biden has the slight edge but is playing defense. As I have been saying to you and Tony, for all of the commentary it’s all about 4 or 5 states a year and 2 weeks from now. The race does not get assessed from here but at the conventions. And I get you’re going to be like binary binary blah blah blah but you’re just over analyzing and to anxious to get into it.
First things first, primaries need to be concluded and ballots need to be settled.
It will be settled by something that the binary mind cannot anticipate.
Perhaps but so far you have not identified an unknown which will change the current trajectory. I am more vigilant than you think it’s just that nothing to date has so far been substantial enough to change the path either Biden or Trump are on.
And no perma-bears don’t get credit when the market tanks for saying the market is going to tank for the ten years leading up and it didn’t. Relax, chicken little, I will let you know if and when something changes. *Pinky promise*
Only because the prospect of Biden dropping out has progressed to being a known unknown now. Way back, it was not even allowed any consideration by the lefties.
Biden is also a wartime president now, with more to come. A totally unanticipated pathway by many - yet his conduct could contribute to his downfall with any missteps. In addition, he now faces a rebellion among many dems/jews over the surge of antisemitism. That was an unknown unknown months ago. But again, the binary mind searches for "the one thing." If there is no "one thing" then the binary mind says there is nothing. sigh.
Rebelion hardly but enthusiasm deficit, definitely.
As to a wartime president, maybe over on Fox News but not as of yet. Although the likelihood of us having a role in the Israeli conflict is extremely high and when that happens, indeed, yes Biden will be a wartime president for all intents and purposes.
Id like to say that this conflict in Israel is not a guarantee. The last ground operation Israel had in 2006 didn’t end well for them. How things will go in Israel is a known unknown. But I will let you figure that out. Too many scenarios to really write out at this point.
But you see, despite my attempts to help you, you also approach this as a binary event. ie. We either have troops or the ground there or we do not and if we do not, then Biden is not yet a wartime president. NO.
All of this is on a continuum. Biden is - at a minimum- a president who comes on tv every other week to justify new 200 million dollar packages to Ukraine and Israel along with language about wartime conditions that justify it. And mixed in with it language from all sorts of military and media types talking about American warships and planes being deployed to conflict zones, and thousands of troops either being deployed or being told that they are standby.
This raises the ire of many americans who want to know why we are protecting the borders of those countries and our people are sleeping on the streets. And it raises the anxiety of many as to what the risks are to going to war with a guy who cannot find his way off the stage. You - as a binary thinker- are able to dismiss it all by saying he is not a wartime president yet. No, he is very much being evaluated as such and based on his own assertions that we need to do unlimited spending due to risks of these wars. Meanwhile American diplomats and military types are threatening war with Iran directly to the Iranians.
Once you have seen Biden endure months/years of hostage holding as Carter had to, you will see what the toll looks like on Biden. You will have some smart arse analysis about how we were never technically at war with them and that will work for you.
The implications for the election will be enormous.
