Tree do you think Kamala is gonna be the nominee? I saw a clip of Joe at the NATO summit, and I mean it was pathetic. Not what he said, just the physical aspect. He literally looked like a 100yo person on happy pills would look walking around the old folks home.

If Kamala gets the nod, you can expect the most nasty campaign of our lifetime. There will be no limit on how far she'll sink in attacking Trump.

Strong consideration should be given to getting out of stocks imo. Buy the dip later.

Well, she is the presumptive successor. And the short time that anyone else would have to get on the ballot gives her an additional boost. As I said in an earlier post, that ballot problem is a real dilemma for any dems who say "if we are going through all this why don't we get someone who can win, rather than start out with someone who polls below Biden." The timing is really tight to meet state ballot requirements.

One of the problems Camp Biden/Kamala has with their plan to go after Trump bigtime is that they have been doing that for years and now they are facing the reality that even the arrows they thought they had in their quiver are collapsing (bogus lawfare etc) yet they are supposed to come up with something new? Yeh, okay. Project 2025 and saying using the "convicted criminal" mantra ad naseum. Okay. Whatever.

In reality. It is Kamala who has been underscrutinized of late and the public is going to get a whole new introduction to her and they will respond with their only defense which is we are all racists and misogynists. My sense is that that DEI crap does not work as well as it did even a year ago.

Just keep in mind. "It is time to do what we all have to do and that time is now so we should be doing what we have to do." - Kamala Harris.

Make no mistake about it though. There will be a surge of rallying around her if she is picked. The dems are severely depressed. As one pundit put it "when you are a prisoner of war and find out you are being released you are so happy that you start hugging your captors." Funny dat. But that does not mean that Kamala can deliver.

And regarding her nastiness... yes it won't matter... UNLESS... which would be her strategy... she goes so low that it sets the new (more subdued) Trump off and he says something really bad that spawns a whole new round of "racist", misogynist, etc etc.

Yep. There is that and just laugh because it is inevitable it is all they got. Even if Trump does not do that, they will accuse him anyway.

Actually I was editing my post and adding that comment and another right as you replied. Yeh. It's all they got. Along with their script about project 2025 wherein MAGA is planning to turn the country into a concentration camp, allegedly. I am laughing at all of them today. I am worrywart about some things. She's also a key person keeping important factions of the Dem party on board. I feel money's important, but much less so if you have a disciplined army of disciples.

What's most interesting to me is that identity politics imply she played a big role in Biden's election. But now... she's a poison pill which prevents Biden from exiting without imploding the party.

It's the exact kind of curve-ball that fate throws a person. I think, for better or worse, they'll stick with Biden.

He's their best option even though he's a losing option. Like in trading, better to lose a little (the presidency) than to lose it all (down ticket, party disunity, etc).

One of the problems Kamala has is that the original plan by dem lefties was to grow and empower the extreme left progressive wing of the party and then have that faction marry up with Kamala when Joe's inevitable exit came. Ideally with him not running for a second term which is not working out as smoothly as the "transitional" president said it would.

And indeed that plan to grow the progressive wing went pretty well for a couple years - being led by the squad. Except it has just collapsed. Squad members are being evicted or on the verge. AOC is practically a mainstream democrat and arguing that she is these days. That's not a good environment for Kamala. She likes the old days when everyone would point out her extreme lefty past and then all the progressive bombthrowers would cheer for her as she tried to out-lefty everyone. You know. Cities are on fire and Kamala says "good and go to my website so that you can get a link to send money to bail out the people who are burning your city down." Yeh. Some of that does not play as well as it did in earlier times.

Biden has to play in a lot of second tier states this cycle due to his polling. NC is definitely at the top of that list followed by, yes, Florida and Texas. I kind of doubt he will put resources in Texas though but expect a real effort in Florida. He has no choice with both plan A and plan B for the electoral college both being less than a 50% likelihood he will need more paths that could deliver 270.

Trump, on the other hand, will be playing a tighter electoral strategy. I’d expect team Trump to eventually get around to realizing their clearest path lies in the southwest.

Although as we are finding out, quite a few of them including the lefty media knew it but the script they got from the DNC and the White House did not allow them to acknowledge it. "Seasoned and wise" was the script. Heh. Can't make this sh#t up.

In the same way, they all know that Kamala is complete idiot but they are not willing or able to acknowledge it until the dems lose. That's fine. Works for me.
