One more reason why the republicans should have rolled Ronna McRomney out and elected Harmeet Dhillon as RNC chair.

So for example, say the pubs put up a wide field of twenty candidates. Then every one of them has to declare that if any one of the others becomes the nominee that they will support that person. It's just bullshit. Let people run, let voters decide who they want as a nominee. That is what the primary is about. It is not about making some previous candidate who cannot support the candidate toe the line.

I would not want to see the dems get into that crazy sh#t either. So, for example, George Santos decides to throw his hat in the ring and run just for giggles and now you are going to tell Biden and Gavin Newsom and Bernie that they cannot run on the dem ticket unless they agree to to support the winner even if it is George Santo?

Ahhh, no. Stay out of that. Just concentrate on putting up good candidates and let the voters decide who they want. If one of the candidates says "My level of support will depend on who the nominee is" then fine. Get over it.

The republicans took a beating in 2020 and again in 2022 with Ronna at the RNC helm. Then they just had an election for RNC Chair and said "wouldn't it be great to have Ronna McRomney again, yeh, let's do that. Because we love losing." All while they had a great alternative ready to go. Harmeet Dhillon.

In the primary they will rock him around hard on his somewhat pro-abortion rights position. Not exactly sure what it is these days but he used to be more left or moderate than the republican part line.

He has all sorts of real experience as an engineer for year and as a multiterm governor and he grew up in about as hard core of political family as you can get. So he has been around the block. We are not talking Kamala Harris here. He is not really a New Hampshire type New Englander by demeanor though. Probably because he went to school in DC. His father was from Cuba, mother descended from Mideast etc., went to MIT etc. But most New Hampshire natives are much more reserved and economical in their speech than he is. So that sets me back a little sometimes. His high level of verbosity and ultraquick speed of replying can sound a little too glib and political for me. But surprise, surprise, political candidates can sling it. As you know his father was governor too and was George Bush's chief of staff, so he has the political blood in him

Anyway, not sure he has any or significant skeletons in his closet. Probably no prior drunk driving arrests that were suppressed, or hotel room stays with male prostitutes in DC so he could be a little boring and the dem oppo research might have to create some stuff as we know they can do.

Chris is VERY obviously thinking of running. Otherwise he would not be taking open and rather vicious shots at DeSantis. If he were not thinking of running, there would be no mileage in it for him to get into that, but he is running stuff up the flagpole to see who salutes.

Of course, I don't know what his view is on the war and that will be factor. And with his father being Bush's chief of staff he will get the Bush-neocon- forever wars thing put in his face. Not sure how that will play out. Be hard for some of pubs in the primary to do that though, if they are war supporters themselves and the dems are pro-war these days so that eliminates criticism from their angle on it.


I am all in favor of seeing him enter the race though. Many of the pubs are trying to pre-wire the race to make X gets this number votes and that Y, and Z do not get any because it would take away or give votes to Trump or whatever. Not up for that. Put a field of candidates up there that are not a complete joke or stupid and I will watch how they do. Chris is a high quality candidate. I want to see Tim Scott enter too.

Chris and the Sununu's used to own Waterville Valley ski resort there in NH too, for a while or maybe still - not sure. I used to ski there a bit. Lot of fun- good memories. Okay, I digressed.

As I mentioned above, Chris has that pro-Trump background that he can market but was not in DC so never got dirtied by any associations- that I can think of anyway- and he will need that pro-Trump card to balance out the rino/moderate accusations that he will face. As I said, he will get rocked around plenty in the primary, but he would be a nightmare for dems in a general election.

Ya know, I was the one here, and you hated me for it... for pointing out that I thought Stacey was something... because she broke the vicious circle. Scott has too.
Now if Stacey leaned right, she'd certainly be an Aunt Tomisina in the clown show that exists as the ET politics section dominated by the "we live to divide" secret PM'ing cabal.

Of course I got crickets on the post to which you reference.

Well no shame in forming a different opinion over time.

I get regular hate mail and posts from people when I support some new entity running or entering a primary or on to the scene. They think I am certifying them or have started licking their boots. Nope. I will figure it out over time.

In regard to Aunty Stacy, I actually see her as the anti-Tim Scott. Tim is pro-American and 100 against using the race equity machine to turn all minorities into victims. Aunt Stacey, however, is a professional victim and is fully committed to promoting the idea that history of blacks in America and opportunities for blacks in America has never been anything other than collusion by colonial whites against them. If Tim runs for president and does not get much traction, Tim will say "I did not do as well as I wished but thank everyone for their support. If however Stacy runs for something and loses it is, "I actually won and everyone knows it is just because I am black." Tim is a gentleman. More men and women should try it. Condi is a gentleman too. Well sorta but not exactly. Might need a sex change to get there.
