Before covid the McDonalds and other entry level jobs in my area had starting wages around 9.00 an hour.Decent 1 bedroom apartments were around 750.00 a month

Now McDonalds and other entry level jobs in my area start around 10.50 an hour.Now decent 1 bedroom apartments start around 1200.00 per month.


Before covid I paid 2.99 for a jar of Kraft Mayo at Walmart.A few days ago I paid 5.99

Most people don't have equity portfolios. The SP doing well and keeping unemployment low to a large degree is trickle down. Has the salary bump kept up w/inflation across all job sectors? Loan rates?

But yes, doomers on fox et. al. and twitter are way more effective than numbers. It's why we have a majority of polled Americans believe Biden had corrupt dealings w/his son.

That's a great idea. Maybe also attach a requirement that if they accept appointment to office, there's a 10 year window AFTER they resign from public service that allows for an audit of all subsequent assets and the source of how they were obtained.

All the lies Biden told in 2020 plays a part in that.When you lie like Biden did in 2020 it makes you less believable on every issue.

No. As I say, I have never seen any evidence that he has any support anywhere east of Sacramento. He probably does somewhere but he would need to demonstrate it. I compared it to Kamala's situation where she had that lefty progressive Calfiornia check-the-box's status and people just - for a very long time in the primary last time- assumed that she would be the go-to girl. WRONGO. Did not even make it to Super Tuesday, and did not even win the primary in Califonia. A "fail to thrive" baby, as it were.

Recall further that I have said that the Dem's are in a double-fucko situation. They just do not realize it yet. And it will set in when they realize that Joe is not going to work out for them, BUT THAT THE METROSEXUAL DANDY FROM SAN FRANCISCO IS NOT GOING TO WORK OUT EITHER. Then what? Yeh, double-fucko.

The assumption that Newsom is some kind of automatic emergency generator that kicks in immediately if Biden goes down is just pure unproven bullshit. I do think though, as I said, that like Kamala, he would get a few weeks of "we got our man and what a relief to get rid of Joe." Starts getting dicey though once you look past the surface, again, as happened with Kamala.

Someone like, say, Gavin Newsom.

California's 56-year-old governor has repeatedly, adamantly insisted he has no plans whatsoever to challenge the president.

Still, the talk of a 2024 candidacy persists, fueled not just by Newsom's words and deeds — a snarky debate with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, turns on the national and international stages — but also the chatter of political gossips and frustration of Democrats despairing over Biden's reelection bid.

If you ignored Newsom's protestations and looked for a place he might launch an insurgent campaign, next-door Nevada and its early primary would seem a good place to start.

But Mulcrone wants no part of that scenario.

And he's not alone among fellow Democrats regarding California as more of a curse than a cure for their political anxieties.

"The last time I was in San Francisco was about five years ago," Mulcrone, 52, said as he led his three pet beagles on a walk in Green Valley, a well-to-do Las Vegas suburb.

Mulcrone, who works in sales, recalled stepping from his car and immediately being hit with a pungent whiff of urine rising from the street. He blamed Newsom, a former San Francisco mayor, for the city's decay.

"I think his policies were too liberal and that kind of laid the foundation for why S.F. is the mess it is now," Mulcrone said. "I don't care if I ever set foot there again."
