Earnings journal

I got filled on the 17.5/21/24.5 iron butterfly on SYMC for 1.88 cr. It's got a ~10% breakeven range. Decided against CVX in the end. The straddle premium on that has gone down since I last posted. The only one that looks cheap today is AMZN, but I'm not trading that.
Thanks for mention of SYMC it slipped under my radar(less than $25), its expensive relative to past moves but one of my indicators are flashing a strong buy! I hope this works out for you

Finding alot of cheap stuff today
Long straddles: MCK(filled 6.12), BERY(filled 3.00), ITW(working),FBHS(working). AMZN is very cheap in my opinion. But as @srinir mentioned it's to big a monster.

Short straddles: Epay(working), Deck(working), Sigi(working).
Will post screen shot of fills at close
Most of those got filtered out of my screen because of the spreads and/or the lack of weekly options.

No liquidity in the wings of deck or epay so no fill.
Long straddles only today

That TSLAcould not have gone better for you! Was there a specific reason for taking that trade?

Nothing specific other than it was cheaper compared to historic open gap (I weigh Open gap move and EOD move since i close earlier in the day) and past expected move avg. My projected open gap $16.48 way lesser compared to my expected move of $26.47.

FB was also less (not as much as TSLA), so YMMV.

hey guys, I have been busy with working on a database this week, only did 2 trades all week, I will most likely not be trading often until I am near close to finishing it. But I noticed an HD trade that looks pretty juicy. short Feb22/Mar1 calendar. Feb22 vol is 18% and Mar1 is 27.2% This puts the expected move at 4.3% which is extremely expensive. Current 185 short calendar is marked at $2.3. Here is the last 10 moves for HD.
It hasn't even moved close to 4.3%. Vol will most likely come in before earnings
