Don't B Stupid when it come to AAPL

This one was an easy play for me. Stock was way overbought. It went from $126.82 to $144.16 in a week! Thats 13.6%! This isn't China and they didn't announce earnings. Running up into the announcement was the perfect setup.

I was thinking about shorting into the announcement, but when I came across this tidbit on a site I frequent, I was sold :

The stock is trading up 4% to $144 today in anticipation of a media event and possible product announcement scheduled for tomorrow. Nearly 400,000 contracts traded today, with calls outnumbering puts 2:1. Remarkably, all of this volume was executed without a single trade exceeding 2600 contracts, showing a substantial ‘retail’ involvement in the name.

Bought $140 puts 15 min before the announcement. Can someone say "huge ass hype"?
 
Lets not get carried away, though. The stock peaked the day the correction started on incredible earnings at 150. Then it dumped to 117 (oversold). Then recovered to 146-148 intraday (on Monday off the top of my head).

Perfect double top technically, and I honestly think if it were not for this iphone pricing, we'd be at 145 as we speak.

That ipod line was kick-ass.

I agree. the new nano with the video screen, for $150 I may have to get one. they have an edge in branding like sony in its heyday, long term buy.
 
Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum. Everyone posting here seems to be much more knowledgeable about trading than I am, so I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on determining when is a good time to go long on this stock. Just from looking at the graphs I get the feeling that it's going to drop more from now, but I really have no factual basis for this theory and I'd like to be able to come up with some solid reasoning before I do anything.

(at the time i am posting price is at 130.8)

Maybe you thought people would respect you once you said how much you "think" you made. But they do not. You top ticked apple, yes, you had picked the very top to make your call. I can give you ten stocks that have outperformed apple in the last week, but that doesnt mean these companies will keep going straight up. The key is, giving the idea BEFORE the move. Then you get props. For now you are not worth smegma. Do you know what that is? :D :D :D

you are entertaining. 60- 740K or 740 million it still does not make a difference. the only way you are getting that type of money is if you win the lottery. come on now. enough with the games.
