Don's openings and more for 2005

I guess if I wanted to sink to a certain level, I could ask Mr. Gr8 what exactly is the value of his misstatements and nonsense, but, then again, we're above all of that. I'm happy to admit that I "blew out" once in the 1980's, but got "back in the saddle again" - with my own money, and am doing quite well, thank you. My brother even had a rough time (got down to his last couple of $million) in the 1980's, but made multiple 8 figures in more than on year, including 2004 (his own trading). My life is pretty much an open book, and I have chat rooms going back 25 years. After helping hundreds (or thousands) of people learn about the realities of trading, it doesn't really bother me too much to have the half of 1 percent, who, for whatever "disgruntled" reason, have an ax to grind.

As always, I am always up for an open debate with anyone who is not afraid to come out from behind the safety of their alias. If there is something to discuss, then let's get Andre' to set up a discussion (nothing hostile, just discuss facts)...whenever I do something like this, it usually ends up with Bright Trading having a chance to back up our claims and business model. It might make for an interesting half an hour.

gr8trader, You make accusations and say "they" contacted you. I can say the same thing "they" contacted me and said they never said exactly what you claim. "They" say you are misquoting their statements. gr8, I worked in a field for awhile that specialized in double speak and inflammatory rhetoric and you are not that good. If you are going to come in and try to discredit you need much better backing to your statements and you need to have more than an anonymous identity on a message board. Bring out the proof, ie documents, pm's which can be verified, etc. Until then I know that the Brights are in the trading business, and the business of training traders and that the training isn't free, and that they will charge me a commission to trade until I do size it maybe rather expensive. I also know there are other options available and I can look into all of them, as I have interperted Mr. Bright encouraging everyone to do for themselves. Have at it with your attempts to twist, I need to get back to enjoying this thread and avoiding your drivel until you come out with something of value.
 
I guess I could make it clear: I have never been associated with Bright Trading, I am interested by it and may eventually pursue training with them, but as of now I mostly trade futures.

I am sure bright will share financials, but would not share information on individual account results( such as their canada group). Nor would I be willing to pay the costs.

Here is the problem with checking financials, If a position is blowing up, what good does it to look at the books. These events tend to unfold very quickly in the market and by the time every one else knows it is a problem, you are too late to do anything about it. I am sure you already knew this though. ( then again, you probably didn't)

Taking my time to respond to your insults and impeachment of my character has already proven fruitless. You really do sound like a broken record. I won't be responding to your posts anymore.

you know you can call in and talk to bob bright every saturday afternoon on his radio show. why dont you call him this weekend and ask him how much he is down on gm. i am sure he will not be afraid to tell you. or do you just find it easier to bash behind a hidden nickname? i will be listening.i also have no relationship with the brights.although i am going to vegas on vacation soon and probably will stop in and check out their office. might even do the school myself.

If you want to piss away $1000 for worthless training then by all means do so. I am simply warning the fence sitters out there to take a closer look before investing there hard earned dollars. If a few of you don't like what I have to say...then just hit the ignore button and be done with it. Don still hasn't answered the questions:

How is the Canada group really doing? Is his most profitable group really making money? Does there GM position pose a risk to trader capital?

In closing, I will quote a recent PM i rec'd:

My guess is that there are far more stories like this one then stories of trader who were elated by the bright training course. For obvious reasons, I am withholding the Identity of the person whom sent me the message.

Been enjoying this feisty exchange...this thread had gotten downright dull...perhaps due to the OO play going a bit stale lately what with the very tight openings most days...I won't use a .2 bracket...too tight for me...not looking for fills on a 8-12 cent "gap"...not knocking it if it works for you...just not my style...I'm looking to make more than 3-4 cents on a position (just so I can say to people "see, the strategy works").

Anyway just as a respectful aside about a comment that caught my eye. Don has consistently counseled in past posts, and I'm paraphrasing, "we teach never to average down...it is the single biggest cause of failure in trading...get out, cut your loss, and then get back in at a better price if the new entry makes sense". You can look it up. I guess what's good for the ganders doesn't necessarily apply to the goose. :)
 
i learned alot from this thread....

i post my results and if you look i started small and have increased my size cause it works....

i am mature enough to filter out the crap and whiners like the afore mentioned....

maybe your friend who pm'd you would have imploded no matter what....

get off this thread because you are bitter beyond toleration...

every man has to decide for himself what is worthwhile and what is not...

save yourself and have your friend pull that bug out of your ass

Wow.........must be slow for traders lately. Speaking of trading, I thought I'd post my results. After a tough friday, Monday and Tuesday have produced some solid trading profits, around $7000 over the past few days. This is about as good as it gets IMO. While I am encouraged by the action of the last two days, the openings have been really "compressed" as of late. This trend, if it continues will make trading in the summer months really tough.
We will see.

I would like to comment on the Canada group. If it weren't for the Canada group, specifically Rob, I would probably not be in the trading business today. When I started with Bright, I attended their 5 day class, and quickly got myself into a losing situation. I lost about 1/2 of my start up capital in a matter of months(GEHON merger blew up). I was desperate, and attended Robs course in Langley. Rob gave me a working theory, a methodology that I could focus on, to work profits in the market. He didn't give me the "holy grail", but gave me a new direction to take my trading, and taught me to look at all trades as winners from an informational standpoint. A very powerful distinction. It was the best investment I have ever made. (aside from my house in SD california). He is a good teacher and an all around good guy.

Darren has been a good friend, and was there to help me when I hit the wall with my trading. (a sign of a true friend is whether or not they are there for you when times get tough)

The rest of the guys are a group of hardworking, good guys, who are committed to trading well.

That's about all I have to say about that!
