Welcome to the new millenium. We're a stock trading firm. Whatever timeframe works is what our traders use. We have traders that are flat every night (some of our best traders) and traders that always have positions on (some more of our best traders). I myself generally do trades that last from 5 seconds to 5 days (give or take).

Really??? If that's what you're hearing, you need to either check your sources or your ears.

Do you deny that the portfolio managers are currently down millions of dollars YTD? Do you deny that the firm currently as a large position in GM and taking large losses on it?
I noticed that your title says you're a "remote manager", what would a remote manager know about net firm positions. Nothing!
You might want to reinvestigate there "sheets" as Don advoacates....it doesn't take long for 10 million in losses to accumulate and then get distributed to all of there traders. That is the firm policy isn't it?

The witch wasn't cold, well, she was just a witch. I got slammed pretty good, and now must do my post mortem and figure out what the heck happened, and how I can avoid having this happen to me again. I hope everyone elses morning went better.
