Donald, This I Will Tell You

Sure, but let's look at aggregate numbers and see the story they tell. Look, things are getting better, sure. But they are still not where they need to be. I'm not condoning militant behavior by any stretch, but I do understand it in the face of some treatment to which minorities are subjected. You and I may not have experienced it, but I can imagine walking a mile in those shoes. Give it a try. And the pushback from offended "white society" (fhl's term) as though the playing field were level is insult to injury.

All I'm saying is that it would sure be a breath of fresh air if the left would decry all acts of racism, regardless of what color the provocateur was, and what color skin the victim had.

In brief, as I said before, you can't parcel out the poorest performing schools in your country and compare the results to ALL the schools in another country.

Why not? Wouldn't you want to be comparing likes with likes to get any sort of statistically valid result? It's not like we are cherrypicking pockets of poorly performing students. All that has been said is your stats are meaningless because if you compare comparable demographics, your argument falls apart.

Sure, but tell me that guys like fhl's "righteous indignation" doesn't foul the air. He uses any excuse to let loose; it's all there bubbling just beneath the surface, waiting to be set free.

There is a big difference between talking about inner city failings and the plight of low income people in the US ( which is a real problem ) and characterizing it in terms of skin colour. This is a distinction that most Canadians understand immediately.

The problem is the most significant predictor of low income, crime and social dysfunction is skin color. If "most Canadians" spent a couple of days in the US, they would understand that too.

Well, if you really want to look at the aggregate, I suggest you look at Charles Murray's book The Bell Curve.
It should provide you with just the type of information you're looking for.

I don't know, man. You spend an awful lot of energy immersing yourself in what fhl does and says.

He follows me everywhere, even into the health and fitness forum, despite the fact that it is obvious from his comments that he doesn't work out. And I merely used him here as an example because, well, he's almost always nearby for some reason. But my comments are not limited to him. He was merely a readily available stool sample for your ready reference.
