Do you see patterns in Random Walks?

IMHO this whole random walk "discussion" is nothing but a fishing expedition trying to entice someone else to disclose his/her thought pattern and deduce a system from that.

Personally, I'm here to read what MAESTRO kindly prints, and for the cappuccinos that whatsisnamePhD is going to bring me.:p

Congratulations, Wishing you many more healthy and prosperous years together.

Thank you so much!!!! It was a nice evening! I took my wife to a nice place and we talked about our 27 years and everything we went through! It was perfect! I am a bit hang over today though, oh well .... :D

Perhaps it's a matter of scale then?
Also, if this not an unrelated or unresolvable tangent, is dimensionalism important? It seems like, it's random because we don't know what will happen in the future, but this could be due to human limitations of perceiving the time dimension as undirectional and not all observable at once. Would it make a difference if we were 10-dimensional beings, and the time dimension (from human perspective) was knowable all at once, as humans can see all points on a 2-d picture at once?

An excellent tangent! We shall explore it!

I would like to disagree, if I may. I think it is beneficial (at least for me) to have a place to express my ideas and create a fruitful discussion that may (or may not) spark a thought that I missed in the process of my research by being too close to the subject! I hope you, guys share this thought. We are also trying to keep the subject at the concept level and I doubt that we will get to implementation details that easily.

actually I take this statement back.

When trying to figure out what the afternoon was going to look like during lunch...

I was pretty sure that the least likely result would be a repeat of yesterday.

A very important thought! The reason why it is so important is because of the "repetitiveness" quality. There is a very little chance that a combination of factors in the future will be identical to what we observed in the past. I do not want to put the words in your mouth (because I might be wrong, there is always a chance for that) but I believe it is one of the strongest confirmations of inherent RANDOMNESS in the market. I actually will try to show later how it can be used reliably.

27 is the 3rd power of 3, a powerful number. Please MAESTRO don't give away all the goodies!.:p

3^3 is powerful indeed! Did you know that all of the prime numbers belong to a set that could be described as 6N +/- 1 ?

Is that a rhetorical question?.:p
We should get on with zeddoublenaught's post...since the conversation has been chit-chat ever since that post...:D

I agree. I am preparing the next set of arguments and simply need some more time. Also, being hang over does not help! :D

Cheers,
MAESTRO

P.S. No, it wasn't rhetorical question. I will explain later.
