Stephen Harper of the Conservative Party held the position of Prime Minister from 2006 to 2015 in Canada. He was the first prime minister to come from the modern Conservative Party of Canada, which was formed by a merger of the Progressive Conservative Party and the Canadian Alliance. In most federal elections his party received over 50% of the votes. Even in the 2015 election (which the party lost) the Conservative party in Canada received nearly 32% of the vote.

The positions of the Conservative Party are very similar to the positions of people "on the right" expressed in this forum. Harper and the party oppose same sex marriage, support the definition of marriage to "the union of one man and one woman", does not support climate alarmism, supported an increase in Canadian defense spending, desired to reduce federal spending and welfare payments, and a large number of other items aligned with "rightie" posters on ET.

Your claim that 99% of Canadians would kick anyone expressing right-wing points of view out of the country is obviously absurd and false. The values of right-wing posters are obviously aligned with nearly half of the Canadian voters. I expect most decent Canadians would firmly embrace achilles28 and find him to be a great neighbor.

I watched the Libertarian Presidential debate. Most all the candidates talked just plain old common sense. Not much really to disagree with. Same thing everybody on this site bitches about. One question concerned Social Security. The candidate asked if you liked grandma. well, then you want to give grandma some money. and that was it. Not much debate on what to do about ISIS. Everybody wants legal pot. Don't think you should need a licence to file somebody's nails. Just stuff that affects ordinary citizens. A military that is so dialed in on defense that you really don't need to worry about it and nobody would challenge it. No war unless attacked. Now that he's the nominee, when asked about taxes, "I don't know, but if they move the only move will be down." I would love it. msnbc would hate it because there would be nothing to talk about. Government really shouldn't take much of my time or money. I ask very little of them. Safety net is very important to me, but we are only talking about a helping hand for the poorest, a lifesaver not a life changer. Social Security is interesting because it is the one program we have that practically everybody pays into and also benefits from. It is well run and simple. And even though we hate taxes more than the average bear we realize a small raise now to keep it solvent later is the best idea. Plus we respect all republicans and democrats because they are the representatives of their people. That is we respect them in a proper government setting. Doesn't apply to a trading website. I keep asking, what is it people don't like about libertarians. Usually it is something they think the government must do or they want to fight a war on somebody elses doorstep. And that's about it. You may ask but what about this or what about that. They've been talking about fixing this and that for years but it never gets fixed by the government because the government can't fix it. It was funny 8 years ago, but we are now looking at a government that will be so secretive and vindictive that it looks more like the old soviet union where you must be a member to receive what has been stolen from the people. I'm not hardcore, I just don't mind when asked what we are going to do about it hearing a President say, "Nothing."

I voted perot after Bush senior lied about taxes... that was equal to a vote for a clinton.

yeah, puts me in a bind because I'm in a battle ground state. For me a vote for Trump would be based on hate. I hate Hillary and the media and I want to see them suffer. Now is that anyway to vote?

I've thought about voting for Trump and then all the libertarians on the ballot, but not sure I want to be directly responsible for Trump. I can wait and endure. The pathetic thing is the libertarians are approaching levels which will qualify them for government assistence to run their campaigns. You seem delusional. In reality, most Americans are far more violent and less stable then Canadians. The proof of that is obvious. However, if some degenerate is running around on our streets spitting on "liberals" ( or whatever enemy he's dreamed up ), he's going to likely get punched at some point, because we aren't push overs.

If Achilles28 identified himself on here, it would have serious ramifications on his real life. Many people who he must deal with in his life in Canada ( whether it be employers, colleagues, or even family ) would seriously question his sanity and morals based on his posts on this site.
And while legally it might be he can't be deported, people might try to persuade him to go to the US. In fact, there is something clearly wrong about his situation, it makes no sense for him to live here given his stated opinions. Which suggests to me he's either involved with criminal behavior or hiding from something in the US. Just a guess, but failing that I just don't get it why he lives here. When I say WIN-WIN, I mean it. You can get your "Patriot" back on US soil and he can help pay the US federal debt and his fair share of taxes.
