Dire Warning About Secular Progressivism In America

Quote from bigarrow:

Frustrated little pspr, you do not know what will happen after you die. You do not know if there is a god. And you do not know that if there is a god that he/she/it will want to see you. It is pure fantasy thinking on your part. But if the religion full fills you in life then that is good, but judging on how abusive and hate filled you are on this board I doubt you are content in life, too much hate.
I'm not totally against religion, many people get much out of it, and the social aspect is very appealing. And most of the churches are not radical and promote good values and are tolerant of others views and many of the members are genuinely nice people. It's the mean religious people like you and phoenix that give it a bad name, thankfully you guys are in the minority.

+1. There is no question that the nastiest people here are right-wing "Christians". The one's telling me to blow my brother. Pathologically nasty.

Of course they're only in it for the psychological comforts, not the more difficult ethical and behavioral aspects. Cursing at the poor and hating anyone who doesn't think like them, on their walk to their hoped-for heaven. Their hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Quote from MarketMasher:

That's YOUR Belief.

:D

Why do atheists deny atheism is a religion with its own belief system?

They kind of have their own pope too - is it Dawkins?

No MM not thinking you were clever is my opinion not belief. And my disbelief in a god or gods or group of universe designers is based on a total lack of evidence. Along with many other mystical and mythical stories that we would probably agree on as being bunk.

be·lief [bih-leef] noun 1.something believed; an opinion or conviction

Can be used as a....syn·o·nym.... :D

Evidence is always subject to time. If not, we would all still think that alchemy was possible... no- impossible...no - possible.... :D

Quote from stu:

You tell him crummy!
Taking statements out of context to make your argument doesn't say much other than you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. But we all already know that about you.

...no - impossible...... :D

This is the funny thing about atheism...

Atheists claim to embrace the scientific method - and yet science says you cannot prove a theory.

Like a limit approaching infinity, there is always something left over - as A.C. Doyle's Sherlock Holmes said: however improbable.....

So an atheist - unless he abandons the scientific method - can only say "I see no evidence - yet."

But admit the possibility - however improbable.... :D

You are saying you don't believe your own opinions.

Clever how you outsmarted yourself. :D

Isn't there a pot hole to be filled or a roof shingle that blew away somewhere that requires your high tech expertise?

There is a difference between the use of the words belief and opinion. And concerning the cleverness of your post it is strictly my opinion that is wasn't clever. However I do realize for someone like pspr he would think your post was very clever as pspr is easily impressed.

Hmmm. I'm not impressed with you.

Maybe you need to try and get as wise as the others you say are easily impressing me.
