This is not 100% sure. They need at least 9 EU countries willing to participate, but 9 to 10 countries seem to support it, and if they agree, the tax could start in 2021.
This new European transaction tax applies only to equities and ETFs (not derivatives) of the participating countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia).
If you live in the EU and trade in US equities and derivatives, nothing will change for you (at least for now).

I am very vigilant at the moment about the development in D and the EU. Thanks for the information. So in the last debate in the Bundestag you call us speculators ... The speculative nature sounded negative for our work. People should be glad that we hold our heads for price stability.
