Why this is the most viewed thread?

Because this is the best place to learn how to be nasty / corrosive / abrasive.

Thank you for the free lesson.

You guys are fkg lucky a baller like dest posts here.... he's the board's mvp. #truth

Lucky how so?

You should really calm down on the ass-kissing as I'm ready to puke up my breakfast here any minute now.

Finn made 5x what you make in a week (yours is sim), and his is real money. F if that isn't cause for self-reflection or a 9mm I don't know what is.

So, you're suggesting a member should consider suicide. It's not the first time I see you writing stuff like that on these boards.

You complain about trolls, but in actuality 90% of your posts (at least on your latest handle) are trolling and picking fights with others for no real reason.

Why the hell do you care that a door-to-door delivery guy is trading on the simulator or making small change? And you hire someone to audit someone's trades on the ES-Journal to disprove his results?

What's it to you? Seriously?

Just look at this thread you just created. It's nearly 30 pages of shit-talking with you being the main contributor.

If you truly wanted to have a trading journal, you could start the OP with trading related content, ignore the trolls (and ask @Baron to remove the comments from your detractors) and focus on actual trading. It doesn't seem like you truly want that.

I think you just like stirring up shit and get off by having a bunch of sycophants hanging on to your every word hoping to pick up some crumbs and giving you praise and validation.

Prove me wrong. :)

I’ll answer this question.

who cares. You don’t listen to someone because of their pnl. You listen to them if their wisdom is worth absorbing.

Personally, I learned the hard way to not trust or listen to anyone. I don't care about wisdom or philosophy as it relates to trading as that's not going to put any money in my pocket unless it's something I can test and verify for myself.

Generally, those who have something valuable to teach in trading will not give that away and those that don't have anything of value to teach can't stop running their mouth. The blind leading the blind. It would not surprise me if > 85 % of posters on ET at present date does not earn any money on their trading operations. And for the select few that does earn money I've no idea how much they actually earn. It would be very interesting to know.

In (retail) trading we're alone. The sooner one can accept that, IMO, the sooner one can have a chance to start some real learning by focusing on what's actually needed and stop looking for guidance where there is none to be found. Considering the odds for any retail trader to make it on his own and the incredible effort needed it's best to just give up before even giving it a shot.

As for destriero, I suspect he's the real deal, but at the end of the day I don't really know. And I do agree with NoahA that instead of getting random day-by-day P&Ls it would be interesting to see a year-to-date P&L curve to put that in context.

EACH ET member should have then these rights if you do it for one person. Even if his name is God, sorry mistake, Des.
You will have a fulltime job, and half empty threads if you do that. The only thing that will happen is a glorification of the OP. Reminds me of the democratic regimes like in Russia and North Korea.
Only what fits Des story will appear and all the rest will disappear. Looks more like indoctrination then intellectual discussions.
I have never seen a person with a more disgusting personality then Des.

This pops up when you open Elitetraders website:
EliteTrader.com is a group of 100,000+ financial traders that have meaningful conversations to help each other learn faster, develop new relationships, and avoid costly mistakes.

Meaning full conversations? A large percentage of Des posts are agressive, insulting, childish, full of fake arguments/screenshots. And the list op people who confirm that he has a horrible personality is long.

Develop new relationships? There are quite a lot of hate relationships created on ET. And Des is top of the list in starting/creating these "relationships".

I had in the past several discussions with you, but these discussions never dropped to the "level" of Des "discussions" which are rather agressive insults.

Exactly.

So far over a week of drivel and 28 pages of name calling and useless chatter. This goes like so many other Des efforts - it starts with a promise of something actually useful but never materializes. The entire point of these "journals" seems simply to boost his followers and ranking in the viewed threads while insulting those not groveling at his feet.

He could have taken any of those opportunities to post anything related to the original title during the 28 pages already here, but has instead selected doubters to be accused of sim trading or being pikers.

Like so many others, he will soon become exasperated and close the thread when the fanboys fade and the "pikers" and "sim traders" stop engaging - followed by a lengthy hiatus to punish those who have "trolled" his efforts at providing the unwashed with his holy knowledge. And then he's due for a new screen name before long.

After reading his posts over the years and especially in this thread, I'm starting to believe Des may actually be Donald Trump.

That’s not true. People share stuff all the time. What people don’t do is give away a complete edge.

You aren’t alone. You just haven’t found someone you connect with or you are expecting too much. The amalgamation of everyone’s sharing can help you build an edge.

you shared some interesting intraday insights with me over PM once.

I have developed some interesting strategies and trade ideas that have earned because of this forum.

Oh, for sure. I'm alone. I gave up on the idea of comradery or team work a long time ago having tried to make some lasting connections. I've connected with a few people here and talked privately, but nobody will give away anything beyond generalities and I respect/accept that.

Keep in mind that you have an industry background and have a different vantage point than me.

My assumption is the lone retail trader entering this business on his own. The chances of getting mislead in the wrong direction is far greater than being lead in the right direction because the ones that are only too eager to share usually don't know shit.

I take that as a compliment. Thank you.

Well, I can't disagree with that. The bulk of what I do was modeled/inspired by someone else on this board that stopped posting a long time ago and to this date I don't anything about his performance. That said, he never gave any specifics, so it was first when I started doing serious research and testing on my own guided by those principles that I started to learn and make some progress.

Anyway, I may still belong to the group that doesn't have anything valuable to share and maybe I just get lucky once in a while, so I stay light on the mentoring and don't try to teach anyone except common sense and a few words of warnings here and there. Mostly encouraging people to give up. :)

Now, I apologize to destriero for derailing this topic and going off in a tangent not quite related to the thread.

Can I ask why no asym flies now?? thx

A 132C/321P fly is a guts (synthetic)ratio-condor. The problem is that you’re generally not skewed to the body if an index position. I had been trading OTM flies with spot but that is simply a synthetic 121 fly with asym-strikes (unimodal D so cannot flip d and skew). It’s a better fit as a pure spec on price as it resembles a risk-reversal on day 1.

Show me on the doll where the bad ppl touched you.

You were discussing a double top formation on another thread so trust that you shouldn’t be mentoring anyone. If you truly think I’m a scammer then it doesn’t fly that you’re admonishing me for catching vinny blowing himself with a fake run (sim trading ES). You can’t have it both ways.

Anyone representing sim-gains as real money should be banned immediately. iP-banned. All VPN farm addresses should also be banned. Ostensibly this is a trading forum. Your ES journal messiah has been shown to be FOS by the excel sheet (vet it yourself) but you don’t care bc the rules don’t apply to your turf? F you.

I realize many of you are shitting yourselves because Baron is considering allowing me to moderate my own thread as it implies a level of favoritism. I started this thread with the poll to show that 1) people truly want to contribute and 2) trolls will not allow it. So yeah, I will take my ball and go home and you can go back to the ES journal trading one lots into double tops.
