I am in Incline... didn't feel it but have been on the road. I don't know where Lone Pine is, but IIRC it's in DV.
It near Bishop, Owens Valley area you have to have visited Convict Lake or June Lake loop. Be safe!

Get him involved in rowing...he has the wingspan, length and sounds like he knows how to pace himself in sports.
