I should also add that I don't agree with this bill at all, and I'm not happy that DeSantis signed it. The Florida Dealership Lobby that pushed and wrote most of the bill has really weak arguments about how direct to sales models would hurt consumers on price. Cutting out the middle man doesn't hurt price, it helps it. About the only thing they had as a decent pro was that trade values are bid up by multiple dealers, allowing a competitive process of attracting the customer to turn in their car. If there was one value assigned by the manufacturer, that would be a lot less competitive. But again, its a very weak point.

And why would you support that? Less middlemen are good unless of course you aim for maximum unemployment irregardless of inefficiencies introduced. Car dealerships and auto parts middle men are a pain in the ass and I have never had a good time at a dealership simply because I always felt those guys try to justify their non-value adding existence through aggressive sales techniques.

I yearn for the time car dealerships are gone. Guys working there are among the lowest educated in the country yet are those bullshitting and lying most.

My point, if you can read between the lines, is this is obviously against the argument DeSantis has made about taking away Disney’s special privileges. And for good measure The Villages also enjoy special privileges DeSantis isn’t taking away.

My theory on Musk is that his future venture involves putting microchips in people’s brains and with conservatives being so stupid, he is targeting this group for his first implants. He is just building up the network to get people like DeSantis to support putting microchips in your brain.

I don't see how Musk is getting any special privileges. I laud his business practice of selling directly, circumventing dealship networks. This is under discussion, nothing else.
