DeSantis for the win

I hear you. And your point is well taken. Deaths could still rise, and it could possibly get really bad. But I don't think so. Again, I don't think so. What I'm tired of is blatant, slanted and misleading rhetoric designed to make a man look bad simply because the people who bet against him aren't yet correct. With each day that goes by and things don't get bad (deaths) the rhetoric gets louder and louder. People in this thread have been saying "death rates lag two weeks" back at the end of May, and here we are at the beginning of July.

I am perfectly willing to admit my error if it gets really bad and there are a lot more deaths. I hope this doesn't happen - not because I don't want to be wrong, but I'd rather people not die!

This should be the position everyone takes.

I hope he is not wrong because think of people from other States.

My state went into lockdown mid March and closed schools and had businesses close down and we went into many restrictions. Were pretty good for what we had to do. Phase 1 was delayed a few extra weeks and now we are mostly in Phase 2. We suffered but for the good of the area we did what we had to do:

My county has 1,000,000 people....very well populated for not being a city:

10,906 cases 383 confirmed deaths

We fucking crushed it.

My State has 1600 confirmed deaths...my state fucking crushed it (sad for those who did die).

BUT.....FL, AZ and TX where things were...shall we say more lazy, are now starting some spiking and it is making our state nervous and roll back some of the freedoms we fought hard to gain by quarantining...

So that is why I am a little pissed at Desantis crowing like a fuck waffle while his numbers spike, same with leaders in AZ and TX. Because it fucks it up for the rest of us that made the sacrifice and though normal is deferred to 2021, we were starting to able to do more even with masks (hit the dentist, Costco, had a mini BBQ etc..).

Not sure why you are complaining. Everything is going just as planned and everything is under control.

Dude, you're the king of narratives. You offer absolutely nothing to this forum other than comic relief - unfortunately (for you) its you who is the butt of most of the jokes, but anyway.
Guess it couldn't have been worse.

In all your nonsense you at least did get it right, we Floridians are lucky we didn't elect a crackhead. Instead we got just another wingnuttidiot.

The numbers of infected and deaths go higher and higher and you are content with your wingnut gub. Amazing.

As for comic relief Orangeman is the best, no doubt about it. Too bad his show is close to being cancelled though. Back to Reality TV soon - which I don't watch. Real reality is gud enuf.

BTW just noticed this post because I'm here on this trading forum for more than ... politics.

DeSantis and Trump tout Florida a coronavirus success as state announces 83 new deaths
The Republican governor from the Oval Office took aim at governors issuing strict orders. ‘Florida’s done better,’ he said.

83 new deaths.... Why is the DeSantis COVID portal only showing under 10 deaths for this day.

This event only demostrates what a complete clown DeSantis is..... let's read some text from the article...

Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared Florida a coronavirus success story, and on Tuesday, he brought that message to the White House for an audience of national reporters and President Donald Trump.

The scene made for compelling mid-day television for Fox News, which aired long segments of their Oval Office meeting. Here was DeSantis, one of Trump’s closet allies, explaining how Florida had bucked experts and the virus without clashing with the president, as other governors, including some Republicans, had done. DeSantis took aim at those governors for what he called their “draconian orders” and at the national media that projected Florida would fare worse than most anywhere in the country.

“You name (the state), Florida’s done better,” DeSantis said.

While DeSantis spoke in Washington, there was grim news back home: Florida reported its deadliest day in the two months since the outbreak began.

The news was a reminder that even success will be marked by the number of people who leave hospitals in body bags. While certain coronavirus models have suggested Florida’s peak day has passed, concerns of a second wave linger as state leaders — chiefly DeSantis — consider the speed at which to reopen when the state’s stay-at-home orders expire Thursday.

To that end, DeSantis told reporters he will unveil Wednesday what steps the his administration will take to reopen the economy. It will be a slow restart, DeSantis said, as the state focuses on “building confidence with the public that the next step will be done thoughtfully."

Another day of winning for DeSantis.... great job governor.

But people dying from the virus (which is the most important stat) shows at lows.

And lest we hear the same BS about manipulated numbers, an alternative source.

Exactly. The choices were crackhead v. wingnut. I'll take wingnut.

The numbers of infected and deaths go higher and higher and you are content with your wingnut gub. Amazing.

That's just it, deaths are not going higher. Oops.

As for comic relief Orangeman is the best, no doubt about it. Too bad his show is close to being cancelled though. Back to Reality TV soon - which I don't watch. Real reality is gud enuf.

I dunno, for comic relief you deserve runner up at least.

Good for you. No one really cares why you're here.

And once again there were 29 deaths reported in the state and the governors portal shows under 10. Complete deceptive manipulation of COVID numbers by DeSantis to support his re-open agenda.

Obviously your charts posted from another source shows over 25 deaths. Explain the difference between these two charts and the governors portal.
