GWB, I'm curious if you'll answer my accusation that you misquoted the statistics on the JHU website and that the data you mentioned about the US testing numbers being 1.5mm, and there being no way Florida could be that high, etc...essentially all you said in this post and I answered in this post.

If you agree, admit the error and lets move on so we can find equal ground figuring out which statistics are flawed and which ones we can rely on (if any such exist).

If you stand by your comment, show me why the website we both used as a source was misinterpreted by me.

Curve flattening had one purpose, to prevent the hospitals from being overrun. It had no further purpose so far as the wider population is concerned. It has merely delayed the onset of wider immunity. People still believe they will avoid infection by hiding under their bed.

The reality is that vulnerable people should mask, social distance and isolate such as is possible. For the vast majority who are healthy it does not make sense and looks like a political attempt to damage the economy for some political purpose. Its not a medical policy at this point.

On Tuesday, The Daily Beast reported that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) touted a supposed imminent downward trend of coronavirus cases in Florida — even though a record new 518 hospital admissions were recorded just hours before.

“Gov. Ron DeSantis lauded the state’s progress on the same day, stating his belief that the state would soon begin trending downward in new coronavirus cases,” reported Madeline Charbonneau. “‘I think the trend is much better today than it was two weeks ago,’ DeSantis said. ‘We’re going to be able to get through it. We’re not there yet.'”
