Cases mounting
As of Tuesday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 25,391 monkeypox cases in 83 countries, with 6,326 cases within the United States.
In Florida, the state Department of Health shows a caseload of 525 statewide, including 237 cases in Broward County, 135 in Miami-Dade, 32 in Orange, 30 in Palm Beach, 22 in Pinellas, and 21 in Hillsborough counties.
DeSantis was having none of it. “So, it ends up coming, ya gotta deal with this rationally,” he continued.
Toward the end of his remarks, DeSantis brought up what’s become a familiar complaint for him: that the Biden administration uses its power to punish Floridians because of the president’s political differences with the governor.
“If I say the sky is blue, they’re going to attack me for that, so I get that,” the governor said.
Florida has the third most cases in the nation. Its also the 3rd most populous state. But...derrr...DeSantis!!

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 18% of American Adults would rather live in Florida if they could move to any other state they wanted. Eleven percent (11%) would prefer California, and 10% would choose New York. Just six percent (6%) say they’d rather live in Pennsylvania and only four percent (4%) pick Illinois. Thirty-seven percent (37%) said they would choose to live in some state other than the six named, which are the most populous U.S. states. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The survey of 1,000 U.S. American Adults was conducted on July 14 and 17, 2022 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

I think we should stop being surprised that with modern technology people are choosing to move out of expensive cities and live in suburban and rural areas as long as they have internet and cable and a road.
The study cited above lists 39% of people said FL NY or CA which have beautiful coastal beaches or wealthy suburban areas and major cities.

That being said, people are moving out of Portland, Seattle, San Francisco etc. in droves and I don't think it is because the rural areas now have internet and Arby's. It is because the lefties have "improved" them to the point where they are no longer liveable.
Also, libs, please do not put a bunch of population data up to show that some of these cities have actually gained population. We get that. Every minute a new tent is set up on the sidewalk or the neighborhood playground.

Not necessarily true. The Census Bureau authorizes/instructs the use of several different methdologies to make estimates, and allows registration for any type of benefit to count.
When can agree that the counts might be inaccurate but since states and municipalities want to drive their population numbers up as high as possible to get more funds, they have considerable incentive to include- rather than overlook- homeless populations.
Instead of bashing Biden and thinking he can run the country MoRon should rather pay more attention to Florida's education situation which desperately needs someone competent.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) hasn't announced whether or not he'll run for president in 2024, but as he tries to promote himself and other GOP candidates, he's traveling the country with a gun-free zone for events, despite the fact that he's decried such zones as being ripe targets for mass shooters.
"The Buffalo guy said he wanted to go where he knew there wouldn't be blowback from people being armed, and so he tried to find a gun-free zone," DeSantis said about the mass shooter that opened fire at a grocery store in New York state.
But as Insider discovered, DeSantis has a gun-free zone of his own to protect his own safety. While he's in Arizona, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, firearms will be strictly prohibited. And it isn't liberals who are showing up to greet the Florida guy with an AR-15.
While DeSantis is campaigning around the country, his state is having a crisis in education. There is such a large teacher shortage that the state desperately seeks 9,000 more teachers in the next month.
For the past 16 years, Florida has steadily seen an increase in graduation rates in the state. Once DeSantis took over, however, those numbers slowed considerably. Last year, the graduation rates increased just 0.1 percent, according to his own Florida Department of Education.
