DeSantis for the win

I am actually indiffierent on DeSantis... what i hate about him is he is basically more concerned about running for 2024 than running his state so he is basically catering to a base so i put him in the same AOC-Cruz category. The business with Disney was the last straw of me giving him the benefit of the doubt because he had no issues with Disney and their money until they spoke out agaisnt a bill he supported. He hated the "Dont Say Gay" nomenclature but then implicitly supported the narrative that Disney pushes a gay agenda or wanted something horrible in schools.

Desantis has no political redeeming qualities so he gets no benefit of the doubt, not becuase he is GOP. His actions with the cruise ships and social media and redistricting shows he basically does whatever a consultant says will get the far right behind him. And I disliked Cuomo about as much for same swarmy personality and approach..Governors are mini presidents acting like they matter.

Ok, all of those are opinions and you are completely entitled to them. I don't expect us to agree on opinions all the time.

So you never heard of the conservative media outlet Outkick. Along with Fox News, the NY Post, and Washington Examiner -- it seems to be right up your alley. Did DeSantis' spokesperson Christina Pushaw post on Twitter bragging about any other items that DeSantis cut from the budget? You mean she only proudly posted the conservative Outkick article while bragging how great DeSantis is.

Let's educate you a little.

By the way Outkick is owned by FOX since 2021.

Founded in 2011 by sports commentator Clay Travis, OutKick is a sports news website featuring conservative political opinions. The website lacks transparency as they do not offer an about page or disclose ownership. In 2021, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton formed a conservative radio program that took over Rush Limbaugh’s radio time slot.

Fox Corp, held by the Murdoch family, owns and publishes Outkick. The sale of merchandise, advertising and subscription fees generate revenue.

First, and again - because repeating myself is the only way to deal with someone who covers their ears every time they hear something they don't like - Pushaw's retweet was because she liked Josh Hammer's comment. Not the article.

Second, you're again using Mediabiasfactcheck as a source to do what? Discredit Outkick? So you're discrediting a source that MBFC says is "mixed", but you frequently use MBFC "mixed" sources for other things.

I couldn't give a shit who they are owned by or why. I just got done saying to Ocho how I don't trust Fox or any other news site.

Every time I wonder how fucking dumb you can get, you surprise me.

Well we are not arguing over opinions because as you said... they are opinions.

But no one is free from reproach simply because of the party initials after their name.

I mean if McAuliffe won the VA Governor race in 2020 and then decided to hit the NRA with punitive legislation due to their gun stance (NRA is HQ in Northern VA) it would be unfair and violate free speech. I would say as much. legal actions for illegal purposes are illegal but this case has not even been adjudicated yet.

DeSantis says business should operate free from government intervention when business did not want to adopt COVID guidelines and then told Carnival and Royal Carribbean they could not adopt their own guidelines when they put in COVID guidelines.

Disney was a huge donor to DeSantis and he could have simply said "We will not accept any more Disney money if they oppose my bill!" perfectly fine... but that is not what he did.

Banning text books for bullshit reasons of CRT but then not putting forth an open list of what he is banning and specific reasonings to let the people review and decide. Let teachers teach but he gets to decide what books to ban?

I have no GOP beef with him, but these items right here....if there is any dislike of desantis he brings a lot of it on himself trying to be trump-lite. Dont get defensive as I am not asking you to hate him. But dont think I hate him because he is GOP. I have some real issues with him.

When I bring them up, I get called lefty and dem lover by others even though they can search my posts hating on AOC.....Pelosi.... CuntCuomo....etc..

Again, we can disagree on the Disney thing. I'm not going to get into that again, we already did.

But this discussion (about the cutting of a bloated budget) which GWB claimed was over a tweet, I have serious doubts about. My guess is when the truth comes out, he'll be wrong all over again - like he usually is. But that won't stop him from spamming all sorts of editorials in the meantime backing the flimsy narrative, devoid of anything factual and all designed to hate. That's just his style.

You'd do well not to take anything he posts with anything other than a grain of salt. He's frequently mistaken, and always based in narrative.

Well I actually saw the story on FOX NEWS first haha

Yes, I would. Because I don't agree with the first analysis either.

It is highly unlikely that DeSantis gave a shit about some tweet. But since I don't know, I'll wait to find out. It is far more likely that partisan hacks and NPCs like GWB leap to judgment based on their talking points for a governor they hate more than life itself.

Let's take a look at how the DeSantis administration is bullying the Special Olympics. You would think that a rational governor would understand why special athletes -- many who are medically at-risk -- would require vaccination to attend a crowded event in a location with high prevalence of Covid. But DeSantis wants to put his narrative over the safety of individuals. Hence he is cutting the Florida funding for the Special Olympics unless they remove their vaccine requirement while threatening fines.

The State of Florida threatened to withhold $27.5M in funding from the Special Olympics if they did not lose their vaccine requirement. The Special Olympics capitulated with a statement "We don't want to fight. We want to play," as they are forced into health rules they felt were inappropriate for their athletes.

I was wondering when you'd pop up and show us how ass-sore you are over vaccine requirements being removed. This is awesome, and why DeSantis is so popular!
