This is a legit question... I do not know the answer already.
Why would Florida not be allowed to govern its own ports to this degree?

Is there Federal law in this area which overrides state police power?
(like I said I am asking... I do not know. )
The Feds did not try to dictate Covid rules on states... so what makes this different?

Florida state cannot regulate what private companies create as a policy that does not violate any laws....

If a restaurant says you need shoes to enter their restaurant, Florida cannot make it illegal for a restaurant to require shoes.

Seriously.... this is pretty easy for most high school students to understand... has nothing to do with police powers and al lthis made up shit.

Requiring vaccine proof is NOT illegal so a cruise ship can require that before you buy a ticket to go on their private ship and abide by their terms. End of discussion. If you don't want to get a vaccine then wait until next year to go cruising.

I was in Publix yesterday and it was packed, not knowing who and who hasn't been vaccinated. Some wearing and some not wearing masks. I think people that are vaccinated will still travel with those that are not.The numbers will show and I do not disagree with you as those are all valid points. I just think their is COVID fatigue and at some point it's going to be business as usual in all industries.

The point that you make about going into international waters is the one that will definitely be the driver of vaccination or not.

Well the stores, some of them, are saying if you are vaccinated you do not need a mask but are not really going to ask every single person if they have proof so it ends up being loosened to the extent no one is REQUIRED but encouraged. However all these businesses are private so they are entitled to still require masks another month which is what many are doing a little while longer.

I am vaccinated but if the store policy is wear a mask I wear the mask.

Any Karen that makes a scene at the door has a right to be thrown out on her ass also.

Because a cruise ship can require in this day and age that only passengers who have a COVID vaccine go on to their private ship that they own. If you don't have a shot, you don't get to board THEIR ship.

A restaurant can require people wear shoes in their restaurant.

If he wants Florida stores to not require vaccine passports for you to go in, well that is a store that all have access to and he might be able to prevent stores from doing so. But a cruise ship is a private boat for vacation....

The companies are free to discriminate as they please they just cannot do that at a Florida port.

To be precise... vessels cannot embark passengers who are required to produce evidence of vaccination. They have to embark those passengers elsewhere. But they can disembark passengers in Florida. So you will have to fly to San Juan or somewhere to get on the ships.

If you want to board a cruise ship but don't want to get a vaccine, you dont have a constitutional right to go on a cruise ship.

If the cruise ships want to back down on this requirement on their own that is their own business decision but the law cannot make them get rid of a condition to board their ship based on health reasons. No smoking almost anywhere on a ship. If you are a smoker, don't take a cruise.

Don't make up laws because you hate vaccines.

Again if RCL says it wants people to be vaccinated to be allowed on their cruise ship, then that is their business decision. does not matter if you agree with it or not, don't go on the cruise ship then until they open it up to all people in the near future...
