Deported Mexicans Vow To Flood Into Canada - Immigrating To "The U.S. Is Over,Now It's Canada's Tu

I strongly disagree that adding a bunch of low skilled labor to Canada serves it any benefit, most stats already prove that these people take in more money from the government than they give back in taxes. Plus we already have a huge housing bubble in Canada which is being further exacerbated by our immigration system.

Currently if you have over 500k which you are willing to invest in the economy you are almost guaranteed citizenship, so people from all over the world are just coming to Canada and buying up houses, this and low interest rates, and a weak canadian dollar has caused our housing to go through the roof.

Most manual labor jobs are already feeling the pressures from automation, so how does adding a bunch of people who are willling to work for even cheaper prices benefit the majority of canadians?

Places like McDonalds are only able to keep wages low so long as we keep flooding the country with immigrants willing to work for nothing. When i was in highschool I was a McMonkey for a while flipping burgers, everyone on my hockey team worked there too cause our coach owned all the McDicks here. Now days there are very few young people working there its mostly immigrants, and this is just in 20 years.

IMO we should be taking all the highly skilled people who want to come, but there is no short supply of people willing and capable of doing labor if the price is right, adding a bunch of low skilled laborers just prices the people already here out of the market, and ends up being a drain on the system.

My thoughts regarding these Mexicans going to Canada is as follows... Canada would probably welcome most of these "undocumented immigrants". There are many farms in Canada that need labor help plus many building construction jobs (trades) near big cities where a construction boom is still going on.

This also gets back to the reality that deporting millions of Mexicans (and other Central American illegal immigrants) from the U.S. will be very costly and difficult. There will also be a significant economic impact both in their purchasing of goods and the jobs they hold.

Personally I believe the best approach to solve the illegal immigration issue in the U.S. is a three part solution:

1) Build a wall. Even though it is likely that the "wall" will consist of many areas without a wall but improved surveillance via cameras and drones plus enhanced border patrol presence. This will serve to keep new illegals out and deportees from returning illegally.

2) Require every illegal resident in the U.S. to register. Set a 90 day period in which every illegal immigrant in the country is required to register at a government office (with picture taken, etc.). Do a criminal background check on all of them. Anyone with a criminal background or fails to register will be subject to deportation starting at Day 91. There should be an active deportation effort.

3) Issue 6 year Visa to registered illegal immigrants who are not criminals. The document should include their picture. After six years they can submit an application for another six years, go home, or attempt to get a green card. This will also require that the properly pay taxes, but still will not be eligible for public benefits.

Step 3 may sound like "amnesty" to some, but it is different since it is not permanent. As a country we need to face the reality that from a demographic perspective we will need new workers in the labor force. Fifty years from now we will probably be actively begging for people to immigrate from foreign countries. It would be best if we faced reality and put in place pro-active policy to deal with the illegal immigrants -- most who are hard working decent people -- and clear out the criminals among them.

One interesting thing I found during my time in Canada was that the compilation list of job listings that were approved by the government for hiring from outside the country. The list did not only include IT jobs -- in fact most of the "high need" jobs on the list did not require a college education -- truckers, construction, oil field, farm workers, etc. So in summary, the Canadian government is doing its best to attract people to fill these jobs. I don't remember seeing restaurant or retail jobs on the list however.

The housing bubble in Canada only seems to be in Toronto and Vancouver as far as I can tell. It is driven by wealthy Asian immigrants according to most of the press. I don't see a housing bubble in Newfoundland and most of the rural areas of Canada.

In summary, I think that Canada will take in many undocumented immigrants involved in manual labor with open arms. My understanding is that recent non-citizen immigrants to Canada on work visas, etc. do not qualify for welfare programs beyond medical. So it may be difficult to take more in welfare than they pay in taxes if the policies are enforced -- until they became citizens.

Think about that for a second though, do you not think if they paid enough to Canadians, that Canadians would be willing to fill those jobs? Places like McDonalds are applying to get foreign workers into the country, do you think there is a lack of people qualified enough to flip a burger? Or is it just that they want to pay people as little as possible to flip the burger?

Isnt that just a way of keeping wages as low as possible cause no one in canada will work these jobs for 8 bucks an hour, or whatever minimum wage is now.

They dont need highly skilled people to drive trucks, work construction, work in the oil field or work on the farm, or flip burgers, they just need someone who is willing to do it for a shit wage. Do you not see the cynical side of this? and how it fucks people currently living in the country?

Now not only are the people who are capable of doing those jobs going to have more competition, the competition is also willing to work at a much lower wage, so how does bringing in people to do these shit jobs at a lower wage benefit Canadians?

How do you know they are Mexican? Could they be Columbian? All look the same to you so doesn't matter? It's like blaming Thailand for Kim jong un.
Does it matter, they're illegally crossing the mexican border. Are you that naive to assume they are taking a cruise ship or air dropped from columbia? You should change your handle, you're giving java coders a bad rap.

Sneaking in across the Mexican border does not make an illegal alien a Mexican anymore than a no good moslem sneaking in from Canada is Canadian. I just don't like the elitist thinking that all hispanics are the same. I was talking to a guy with an industrial food truck route (roach coach), we talked numbers and I encouraged him and affirmed that he had a pretty good deal. GOOD DEAL!?? He replied, what do you think I'm Mexican? I'm Cuban, man we want our own franchise dynasty.

You understand the problem, you know it's a free for all at the mexican border. Mexico doesn't want illegals so they let them through the US border. American's don't want their problems but I guess people like you do. One must assume you are not part of the solution, then who are you? Do i need to make it obvious...

Yeah, why don't you just go ahead and make it obvious or shut up because I lost my copy of the shithole code book. Actually, I threw it away after I voted for Trump. One time I said and then never again republican. As long as you are taxing me and then giving shit away one must assume you are not part of the solution, then who are you? Do I need to make it obvious...
