I have said repeatedly that Mouse Garland was in baited breath mode to do a political raid on Maralago, but that he would immediately go into slow-walking mode when it came prosecution time.

The DOJ rarely reveals charges in cases involving politicians directly before elections. They wait until after the election to charge the suspects. So it is hardly surprising that Trump and his associates are unlikely to be charged prior the general election. This may disappoint some Democrats (since it will not help them in the mid-terms) but this is also exactly why the DOJ holds off until after near-term elections generally.

Oh pooh. The DOJ has crabwalked on that. The rule used to be that they did not bring charges against candidates but Trump is not a candidate for anything, and certainly not for the midterms.
The Bidenistas just wanted to do a hard political hit on Trump before the election and then after the election they will downplay it and say that they only acted to preserve documents.
