Demoncrats raid Mar-A-Largo to stop Trump because they do not have a candidate

Trump is arguing he declassified the documents in his head but didn’t notify anyone.

No he is not.

He specifically declassified several troves and tranches and categories of documents.

If you want to argue that what he had there was not included within, well, maybe or probably those arguments will be made as part of the legal process.

Don't be surprised if Trump puts up a defense, eh? Not saying it is insurmountable, but I am saying that it will not be your cut and dried conclusions and flat-footed statements that are more filled with hope that Trump is screwed than with facts.

Most likely he will even go up to the Supreme Court on a few of the issues if the government puts on a real prosecution rather than just harassment.

Now, let me tell you where the Swamp and Merrick Garland are fucked if they cannot produce.

Merrick Garland is having his little fun. And even though- he is a mouse- Usual Tard's most apt term- he is the Man of the moment in leftyville. This is his time to show em all that he has cajones and is dragonslayer.

The problem is, now he has to deliver. He has to take all that Mara-A-Lago theatrics and convert it into actual legal charges and move on it. These things always look ballsy going in (think Mueller the dragonslayer) until the defense team shows up. Then they start getting complicated and difficult very fast. But Garland has touched off fierce and loud and not-going-away accusations that the Swamp is just witchhunting. So he has to deliver now or watch that grow. The DOJ and the FBI are already in the shitter from their previous scams. Here is his chance to do the deed or plunge them even deeper in the shitter along with Camp Biden which is running all of this.

Okay, that is just a recitation of the obvious but here is why it is much worse than that if he cannot deliver and does not immediately proceed to filing charges and then the case must look like it has legs:

It is this. The January 6 committee clowns in cahoots with the DOJ have all sorts of charges they want to try out against Trump. Lots of them, and they are self-stimulating while watching Jan 6 tapes and thinking "this is how we keep Trump from running for office." But they know that there will be fierce, fierce witchhunt accusations and criticism of the DOJ along the way (keep in mind the doj would not even reveal whether there were fed agents there in the crowd). The Jan 6 witch hunters are prepared for all of that. But the new problem or opportunity they have is with Garland's current circus. He can help that whole Jan 6 conspiracy to get Trump by doing the deed and going after him legally on the Mara-A-Lago scenario but politically he does not have the option now of just saying "well, we retrieved the material but we are not filing charges at this time." Nope, you have crossed the Rubicon now. You have to deliver or you now put the Jan6 prosecutions even deeper into an atmosphere where the DOJ and Camp Biden are just harassing Trump.

As I said, Garland having his little fun this week and probably next week too. After that, his problems set in bigtime. Lots and lots of questions about the DOJ handling of the raid and what was up with all the heavy drama. You can expect lots and lots and lots of "I cannot comment on that because the case is still under investigation." Except he owes the public an explanation- not legally- but to keep from watching his political objective from tanking and from poisoning the well for Jan 6 prosecutions.

Garland needs to deliver. You can't just say to the public that you got Melania's library books back. That is not going to work against the animal spirits that been unleashed with this most recent fishing expedition. And right while the Jan 6 committee wants to do some more witch trials. Very toxic.

Dems are out there, as usual, working full time to get Ron DeSantis nominated. Making some progress too. Then they cannot find a candidate. Maybe some metrosexual from California who is fueled by hair gel. Okay. Or tinkerbell Buttigieg who did something somewhere before his current job and now does something somewhere in the Biden Administration but he is gay and rides a bicycle and that is important.

With that said there is a lot to explore on Trump claiming to have declassified SCI and top secret level material. Now I’m not an expert but doesn’t that mean theoretically we the public now have a right to know exactly what is in all of the confiscated material?

This is not me being rhetorical or smart alecy, I legit don’t know. Some of this stuff is SCI level - the top of the top shit.

I have not agreed that the discussion and issues are just related to the actual search warrant, just because somehow it your only focus.

I have not contested the sufficiency of the search warrant. I have full confidence that everything will get looked at along the way. Standards for probable cause are much lower than for actual conviction, duh, and that is just the way the system rolls. Prosecutors get to easily do all sorts of messy and ballsy things that suddenly are not so easy when the defense team shows up and it is an actual trial or even having to formulate an actual case for prosecution.

Garland needs to put all that together. Can't hide out now or the dems will keep paying a price.

If you and I had SCI documents in our basement we’d be under the jail. Trump uses his presidential/former and political candidate status as leverage to stay above the law.

The right wing argues that searching Trump’s home make America a banana republic. No. It makes America a functional republic when all people are held accountable to the law. I think I get your gambit-like question. If Trump claims to have declassified top secret documents, then they can now be made public. However, making otherwise top secret information public could potentially put the country at risk. So, apparently, Trump's only play out of this mess is to cover his ass by exposing the USA's. I suspect that legal minds are ensuring that such a ploy won't work. Besides, declassifying documents in his mind without due process? Sounds more like construction of evidence after the fact and cognizance of guilt.
