Democrats can raise the debt ceiling, but aren't

For the record, this debt ceiling fiasco was based on a Republican filibuster democrats could not overcome without Republican votes. Mitch McConnell was/is trying to make the democrats use reconciliation to jam up the rest of the democrats agenda. And this is why Mitch McConnell is an asshole. The debt ceiling is not political. Failure to raise the debt ceiling will sink the whole country. It’s basically strapping on a suicide vest and blowing up your own family.
Right. There’s a certain type of impregnable defense to their stupidity but I see it as a two-fer nonetheless. Not only will get to ridicule our resident right wingers, I will also get to rub their face in the real corruption in the Republican Party.
There are plenty of essential government workers who do necessary jobs for this country so for them to be punished for no reason but simply because GOP and Dems want a dick swinging contest is ridiculous.
Private employees have to deal with uncertainty when the company faces tough times or has financial issues. This is nothing like that. This is a problem that can be easily avoided since it has nothing to do with any uncertainty. Congress is specifically forcing the shutdown.
Private employees get paid when they show up for work and the business is running fine. Gvt employees get fucked if ass clowns want to fight.

Govt employees for the most part have nothng to do with left or right, they just want their salary paid like any other employee that shows up for work.

I get that you always want DC and the beltway to be special based on your historical affinity.
I am not asking that government workers be singled out for punishment. Only that they not be exempt from the madness and stupidity of DC. It is not limited to just to budget matters. Lots of people live in towns that are regularly occupied and destroyed by lefty mobs while they argue for defunding the police. Meanwhile, if a protest gets out of hand in DC they immediately demand an occupying Army eight times larger than we had in AFG.
Many people out in the real world, farmers, fishermen, small businesses, senior citizens etc. have needs too. But what DC sees most and feels most visibly is how their federal government atmospherics are looking.
Nope. Government workers should be right in the mix when things get messy.

My whole point is none of this should happen to anyone... but most farmers and senior citizens and small businesses keep on doing what they do daily...they are not asked to go without for 2 weeks while wealthy congressmen play pissing games...
What rational person would engage in such a exercise in futility only to prove my point? How many days, weeks, months, years would we go tit for tat only to end up knowing with absolute certainty that the government, the ENTIRE government comprised of both political parties is corrupt to the core? The debt-ceiling dance is a nutty little game and drama that both parties use to turbocharge some other goal they are trying to get passed. It is 100% DC created and driven- unlike other problems that are truly difficult.

Actually it is the opposite. Their is surprisingly little real corruption in government. Some of us have been brainwashed from the time we were small children to think otherwise.
Government isn't the problem, it's a few horrifically evil people within government that cause major problems. And now the republic itself is in danger because of one such person.
